Thank you Cynthia for your reply to my question. It's much appreciated. If you can ever be in a position to accept feedback which finds it's way back to the devs.It would be nice if there was the option to make LOW a higher quality. When playing back recordings on your phone, High/Clear can be a struggle and unreliable to play back. However Low is such a massive step down in quality for playback. It would be nice to see something in-between.Like you can have balanced for live viewing. Perhaps something like Balanced quality for mobile playback
A week or so ago, I was using a couple of Reolink 5mp camera's with just SD cards installed.I did not have a NVR.It was lovely to see, in the Reolink app on my Android phone, the small thumbnail icons for playing back the alerts, had tiny images showing you what caused the alert. A car, A person, or something. Now having upgraded to a full system with NVR and the 4K Camera's you do not get these small thumbnail images anymore. Just a black tile with a white shape. So you need to actually play the alert footage to see it.Can this feature be added please, as it seems I've got a better system, but I lost this feature in the process. In Summary. Actual thumbnail images for the alert playback icons.
Wow, this is exactly the same question I just posted after buying my 1st Reolink indoor camera.Like yourself, I wish to feel private and secure and not have the Camera be on whilst I am home in the same room.Another camera brand I bought a few weeks earlier, has power controls on it's main page, and I just assumed it would be the same for all cams from different makers, as I would imagine most people, if they are home, perhaps in their living room watching TV in the evening, don't wish to feel the camera is still on recording them all the time.Very important for indoor camera'sAdditionally (if anyone from Reolink reads this) it would be great to also have the option of camera's turning on/off based on your location. So when you leave home the indoor cameras turn on, and when you come home they turn off.
Just yesterday I purchased my 1st ever Reolink Camera. An E1 Zoom, so I'm still finding my way around the app, and how it works.I have a few initial "issues" I'd like to see improved upon, but leaving those aside for a moment, I have a very simple and basic question. With some other brand indoor WiFi Camera's, in their app is like a power button for each camera. You press this button, the Camera's Status light goes off, as do the IR lights, as the camera is now off (to whatever extent off it)Which gives me great peace of mind in the evening that cameras are not watching indoors when we are home. However, in the Reolink App for my new E1 Zoom I can't find any simple off button. There is just, what looks like a Play/Pause button, but if I press pause, the Camera Status light is still on, and the IR lights still go on and off depending on the room darkness. As it's for indoors, there must be some "power button" in the app I can't find yet?Can someone help please as I'm not really comfortable with this camera still being so active when I wish privacy at home.Thank you
I'd not viewed my Reolink NVR on my mobiles for some time, but found something odd yesterday.I have for the past few years been using a now old Pixel 3XL and on that phone, I can get the live fluent feed from my Reolink NVR fine. However I have two much never phones. A Pixel 6a and a Pixel 6 Pro (Both updated to the latest Android 14) and on both of these if I select Fluent, I just get the reolink logo cycling and the life feed won't start. All the phones have the same settings for the Reolink app.Could this be some software bug in the Reolink client that does not like Android 14?Perhaps others have the same experience? Is anyone aware of this?
Hi Cynthia.Thank you for the recommendation to check what version of the windows client I was using. After checking I found I was using v8.1.18Following your advice I searched and upgraded to v8.2.0This has 99% corrected the problem. The reason I say 99% and not 100% is that, after downloading 6 different 30 minute video clips, they ranged from exactly 30 mins (like the old client does) to 30 seconds short of the full 30 mins.30 seconds is not much of course, but could be important if something happens during the missing time. So, the new client is "almost" perfect, but still can miss a small amount off the end of some downloaded clips.Hopefully this can be made "perfect" in a future release.Thank you.
Just found this out by accident, as there was some footage right at the end of a 30 min section or recorded footage:I have my NVR set to save video footage in 30 min chunks as it's easier to handle than 1 hour sections. What I have just found out is that, when I select one of these 30 min chunks via the new Windows Reolink Client, it only actually downloads a clip about 24 to 25 mins long. It's missing about 5 mins off the end.I tried this a number of times with different clips and it always does this.I then loaded up the old Windows Reolink Client, and selected the exact same recorded section, and this old client did correctly download the full 30 mins of video. This appears to be a bug in the new Windows Client.Hope this can be fixed.Thank you.See the attached image: (look at the far right which shows the time-length)The top two files are supposed to me 30 minute sections, and as you can see they are exactly 30 mins each, and are downloaded from the OLD Reolink Client. The other four files below them are also supposed to be 30 min sections, but as you can see the length of them is random approx 20 to 25 mins only each one.filesize.png

Thank you.At the moment, if the old client stopped working (thankfully it still does) there would be no way to change the NVR output to 1080p which the monitor could use, so you would be unable to use the NVR.I hope your R&D team will be able to add these settings into the new client.Thank you.
Before I start. I had a problem with the screen physically connected to my NVR. it was blank. After much puzzling why, I managed to fix it. The problem was the video resolution output from the NVR had changed. And I was able to use the old Reolink Windows Client to change the NVR Video Output back to 1080pThe second icon from the top left here called "Output"So that's great. However, I have been looking and looking through the new Reolink Windows Client, and I can't find any of these settings. Is this because I'm not looking in the right place, or does the new client not have most of these setting yet?
Just updated to the very latest version of the new Windows Client. All working OK for me, but I'm sad to see the simple request of remembering the window size it was set to, when you last shut it down is still not working. So every single time I run the Reolink Software I have to stretch it out on my screen, as it does not remember. And I do not wish to maximise it, as it looks weird on an unltrawide monitor.Almost all other software remembers it's window size, please can this be added in a future update?Thank you.
Thank you, that would be great.I think all video apps, and most podcast apps allow you to cast to a screen which has cast ability. It would be lovely if you can open up the reolink app. Go to the live camera view you wish, and select CAST so it appears on one of your screens, just like you do from many many other mobile apps.Look forward to it
Can you please add a CAST button to the reolink app?I and I'm sure millions of others would love this ability.I'm sure it would easy to do, as many apps, podcast apps and video apps almost all have the CAST button.Right now, it it possible to work around it, in a messy way.You can go into your phone settings, and select CAST which casts everything that's on your phone screen to the screen you are casting too. But it's a bit messy as it means you can't do anything else with your phone.Just please add a CAST button to the Reolink mobile app please.Thank you
