First I upgraded the nvr as my model had a new update.I upgraded the firmware from here.On the cameras, I had them all downgraded to the 04/22/2020 firmware you mentioned and from that upgraded to the new firmware from here.I've gone through a few reboots with no issues. I had a feeling right away things were good as they came back up after the firmware update, whereas before they did not.John
I've updated the cameras to the latest version and everything seems to be just fine, thank you!
Also, is there a way on the new client to snip a recording like you can with the old one? The old one made it very convenient to snip a minute or so of what I actually wanted. I can't seem to figure out how to do it on the new client, unless it's just not an option.
I've noticed this as well.
I will try this tonight, thank you!!
Is there a way to force a downgrade, and if so, is the firmware available somewhere? For the B800 and the D800.
Again it happened this morning at 2AM!!! Grrrr!!!! Guess I'll get in touch with support. It had no issues until the latest firmware posted for these models. I tried to "upgrade" again with the same firmware thinking that might change something but it won't allow it as it is the same version number.
I'm using the NVR though. If you're using individual cameras, that might be the difference on the 2x2 vs. 4x4.
Not sure on iOS, but on Android it can do 4x4 in either landscape or portrait mode. I also agree with the other stuff.-JohnScreenshot_20210104-083319_Reolink.jpgScreenshot_20210104-083828_Reolink.jpg
Well I woke up this morning and those same 8 cameras were disconnected again. Only thing I could do was to press the reset button until they reset. The only thing that I can think of is that I have the NVR set to reboot at 2AM on Sundays. I have since turned the auto reboot off. The only thing I changed from the last time I reset them was to change the recording bitrates to their max, change the location of the time to the bottom left, set them to record sound, and renamed the channels. Not sure what happened..
I have the 16 channel NVR (H3MB18) and there are a few things I would love to see in future firmware releases.- Direct access to cameras behind the NVR. Either by allowing them to get a dhcp address from the network (not from the NVR itself) or somehow bridging the NVR network to the local lan.- In the newer (current) firmware, the NVR can automatically update the NVR firmware. I'd like to see automatic camera firmware update implemented as well. Looking through all of the revisions for all of the cameras, updating is kind of a pain once you start mixing different models on the NVR. Especially when you have to download the update file, copy to a usb drive, hook a monitor and mouse up just to update.- This goes with above, but right now we can't update the camera firmware unless in front of the NVR itself. This isn't ideal as a lot of people have NVRs tucked away and don't always have a monitor nearby or connected to them. If we could manually update the camera firmware via the desktop client, this would be awesome. If we had direct access to the cameras behind the NVR this would also be a lot easier to update the cameras.- Be able to rearrange the camera channel numbers in the client. Right now this can be done, but again, only directly on the NVR. I'd like to basically be able to do EVERYTHING through the client that you can do as if you were sitting in front of the NVR itself. I think these are really the only things left. Thanks for listening!John
I have 4 B800 cameras as well as 4 D800 cameras and the latest firmware (found here) seems to soft brick the devices. I upgraded through the NVR and they all showed as successfully being upgraded, but never showed back up. The cameras seem to boot loop every 30 seconds or so. I have had to go to the cameras and press and hold the reset button on them and then they come back. I've only done 5 so far as the other 3 are fairly hard to get to and I just haven't had time. I unchecked the box during the upgrade to update the config file, as I wanted to keep my settings. Of course, hitting the reset button took care of that. Just a heads up for others. My NVR is the RLN16-410 (H3MB18), running the latest firmware. And by the way, if there was ever a way to add the camera firmware update functionality to the NVR client, that would be a HUGE plus. Such a pain to hook a monitor up to the NVR as it's in a rack.
Thought I'd post a reply here. Support logged into my machine and tried quite a few things but in the end we weren't able to solve the issue. It still had the issue on client version 8.1.20. Well, I decided to buy the new 4K 16 channel NVR as I wanted to get 4K cameras soon and it hasn't had the issue since. Not sure if it was the firmware or the hardware of the old 16 channel NVR but it seems to have been solved with the new hardware. Stinks, but I was going to upgrade anyway, so I am happy.John
I do have a support ticket open right now for this, but was curious if anyone in the community experienced the same.
I updated to 8.1.7, issue still persists.
I have the RLN16-410 (H3MB02) and as of version 8.x of the client my screen glitches. I am using the latest client, 8.1.5, although this issue has happened on all of the beta versions. The problem is that the screen will flicker at times and sometimes red squares show up, and sometimes the entire window just goes grey. I am attaching screenshots and a video to show what I mean. Didn't know if anyone else has experienced the same. I've emailed support, but thought I'd check with the community as well. Wondered if it might be my video card, but it has the latest drivers and I've done a clean install of them just to check and it didn't change anything either. Here's some pictures as well as a link to a youtube video of it in action.https://youtu.be/HWWbbW79dLoI am running Windows 10 Pro (64bit), version 2004AMD Ryzen 9 3900xAMD Radeon RX 5700XTthanks!JohnError1.pngError2.pngError3.png
I see that an update for the 16 channel was just released that is able to do what I was hoping for. Hopefully the 8 channel will be soon to follow!thanks!
Thank you for the reply. Trust me, I check for updates about every day. I just know the newer 8 channel looks identical on the outside as the older 8 channel, so I didn't know if it would be very hard to add those features to the older model. That might show my ignorance, as I know the internals may be radically different, but I wasn't sure.thanks again, John
I have an older 8 and 16 channel nvr along with the slightly newer RLN8-410 E. When (if ever) will the slightly older models get firmware similar to that of the RLN8-410 E? On the newer one I can see the videos in Chrome without the need for a plugin install, it has the video clip feature, and is able to add/remove the watermark.Just wondering if there was a firmware for the original 8 and 16 channel that provides the same features.thanks!John
Is there anyway to disable to confirmation box when closing the Windows client? When I click the "X" to close it, it drives me crazy that it is always asking me if I am sure that I want to close it.Capture.png
