@reolink-fiona This falls under “other” and relates to overall management of whole system but in two parts.1. I would like to see better NVR / Camera management. I understand separate Camera control is needed as they may not be used with NVR but when they are it would be nice to be more seamlessly controlled. 2. Also would like networking impact features. This might be my ignorance but as more cameras are added are they streaming constantly? I would hope they only send to NVR when triggered motion, scheduled recording, or viewing through a mobile/desktop app, or the NVR monitor. Which to me it seems the NVR app should have a way of turning off view live unless any app is requesting.
@reolink-lorenz #1 In the mobile app for example when I go into Channel Selection I can select any of the cameras listed in the NVR heading. Then below NVR group/heading the cameras have their own heading where they can be selected, again. Why is it like that? If I have a NVR and I added a camera to it, for viewing and controlling it, why allow me to again select it under its own heading as though I am going to control it directly and not through the NVR? As it is now after I close the menu (by using “done”) from selecting cameras (all of them but only under NVR heading only) I go to a single camera view. I then tap the icon letting me select the 9 pattern grid. I am shown 8 pictures and one blank. I do have an 8 channel NVR but only 5 cameras (two are duals) so I should be seeing7 images. One of the images, the extra one, is a repeat of one of the dual images. And if I hit NVR drop arrow down, showing devices, I see all the cameras shown in a horizontal scroll under NVR - but also they show again in a vertical list below that. #2 I understand and have the recordings working. It is obvious I am going to have network traffic coming back to the NVR when I am recording. My question relates to the traffic over the network when people are using the app, desktop client, or the NVR UI. Are the cameras constantly streaming which enables me to view them on either of the 3 mentioned network devices? If I don’t have the mobile app open, nor a desktop client open, and I wasn’t going to be viewing the NVR UI I don’t need the camera streaming over my network, because as I understand it the camera interprets the motion triggers which would then need to send the stream out to be recorded.I want to have the cameras send data over the network only when it is needed either for viewing live or recording and I would like tools to be able to analyze the traffic and how it impacts my local network.
Thank you for response.Oh well, I was hoping for the Point to Point Beam taking the video from the PoE connection back to home network (Beam) then to NVR. I am not interested in 4G or memory card use. The mention of the Solar panel being spec'd out was to include powering a battery to handle the camera, PoE injector and, a point to point beam.
@reolink-fiona Trail Cam development I hope for. Solar powered, motion triggered streaming through Nano Beams <1/4 mile into NVR via network. Kits offering recommended (Solar panel size, Nano Beams, Battery included). Possible separate IR triggered spotlight. For example 15ft cord on spot light allowing separate mounting location.
