@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 There is a definite problem. I noticed the camera on the opposite side of the house (much further away) picks up cars/people in the cul-de-sac but my new closer camera had not picked up anything but me putting the camera up and moving the ladder. The only difference I can come up at this point is that the camera on the other side of the house is looking past a shaded porch area down to the cul-de-sac where it's sunny.......difference in contrast change?......just spitballing at this point. But I'm still wondering if this may have an old FW that is not the best (v3.0.0.1045_22061301)(Argus PT 2k 2.4/5).Suggestions??And Thanks as always!
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 That makes sense....when trying to disable the Hardware Decoding you had to get to it quickly before the "blackout" of the screen!Wish I had known that before! Thanks as always Joseph!
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Thanks for the reply but I'm asking this because I purchased the "upgraded" (if you want to call it that) of the Argus PT 2K that works on 5GH WiFi also.....not saying that WiFi has anything to do with it....I have noticed that one my regular Argus PT 2k was missing a lot of activity and it seemed like after I raised the camera up, it then started picking up objects again. I have raised the newer version camera to see if that makes a difference as well....By the way....can you tell me what the newest FW is for the Argus 2 PT 4k 2.4/5 Wifi? Just wonding if my new one may have old firmware (v3.0.0.1045_22061301) and I may need to put in a ticket to request an update....
It appears that from reading some discussions that there is a "detection zone".Can someone explain/show where that is?I thought it would be anything within the field of view of the camera and obviously this isn't correct. Thanks!
I just replaced a Argus 2 PT 4k 2.4 with the 5GB version. The sensitivity setting seem the same but it will only pickup and record objects within about 10-15 feet.Suggestions? I even turned up the sensitivity settings to 100.Thanks
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Hey JosephI had this problem a while ago and I was told to disable Hardware Decoding (which seems like having it would be a good thing). If I try your suggestion will I be able to enable the hardware decoding? Thanks!
@jedi2020_32727772450952 OH....I could make one.....but I don't think the wifey or neighbors would like it An suggestions....pix?
I've noticed that someone was asking for a more stable mount and I can agree. We have a tropical storm near and the winds were around 30mph and my camera video looked like it was from a boat!WHAT I would like to see is a mount that EXTENDS further than the current mount. My gutter downspouts block vision if I try to look in a different direction.I'm sure if they were available many of us would at least try them out. I myself would love it and it would make my camera more usable.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Hey....just wanted you to know that Reolink finally made the FW updates available for all of my cameras and all videos are great now. Finally on version v3.0 0.875_22030800 Thanks for your help!Have a great day!
@john_350143387672724 You must have given me good luck!I finally gave my info again and this morning got an email saying they pushed out the FW.I logged in and no change but I checked for updates and updated 5 of my cams.....they had pushed one out to another camera days before and I updated it as well.I'm now on v3.0 0.875_22030800 and my recordings are watchable and pretty great resolution! I actually can use the hi def (clear) and the recordings are no longer pixelated!I don't understand why the updates are NOT always available for us to check and update if we want to.......Anyway, thanks to Reolink support (took months and $ on SD cards) but now everything is working!
SanDisk 128GB High Endurance Video MicroSDXC Card
Great Info! I was using the exact same SD card and have video playback problem with the hi def (clear) and my build isI think this could be my problem and one possibility (drawing at straws) is that I may have the network that the cameras connect to for updates very well could be blocked by my firewall....if only I knew where the updates came from! Thanks for the reply.....there is still hope!!
Hello,I've been having some issues and would like to see what other people have for their Argus PT 2K microSDXC, Build & Firmware. Thanks!
Today I have installed into 2 different cameras my NEW Samsung EVO Plus SD cards......Jerky hi def and pixelation continues.I sent an email to Reolink support asking about rolling back the firmware.....
Well here is how it started out.......Received my 2 Samsung EVO Plus and 1 Samsung Pro Plus 160 MBs Read 120 MBs Write.Since it was late and only need a small step ladder for the height disabled wife I was going to install the Samsung Pro Plus. Removing the SD card (which I've done several times on this cam due to accessibility) I pushed on the installed SD card and the next thing I see is the SD card fly out and bounce on the deck about 10 feet and believe it or not.....it went right down a crack between the boards! Cannot retrieve it because of lattice around the deck and the side I remove has tomato plants in front of it....maybe it's a waterproof model......Here are the recording results: Low quality OK as usual High quality recordings PIXELATED!At this point (other than being Pi$$ed) I'm back to thinking it's the cam/firmware.Will Install the EVO Plus tomorrow in another cam and reply with the results but the Pro Plus definitely EXCEEDS Reolinks recommendations for SD cards!NOT a happy camper
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Hi def videos on SD card have jitter and pixelation. Running AImesh and all clients have well over 100Mbps at each location. Like I said....they used to work with hi def playback directly to client (Android & Winders). Are my SD cards here yet?.....can't wait
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 The SD cards should be delivered today.....finally thanks AmazooSO, you think they could revert me back to a previous firmware? Kind of hope I need that because I've wasted money on 6 SD cards. That would be great.Either way sounds like this could be the beginning of the end of my problems.Wish 20 years ago I had thought about possibility of running CAT5e (POE) to outside locations but eventhough these cams are only 2K they are not bad (Reolink is far ahead of anyone else at the time of purchase especially with the ability of remote controlling the viewing area). Reolink told me that it wasn't possible to have 4k on a battery camera .....I bet it's not long before they release them though.....battery capacity and size has come a long way. But if this issue can be resolved they will work fine for a few years.I almost pulled the trigger on the doorbell camera Reolink was releasing but then my cameras started with this problem and I held off. Can't wait to get the SD cards eventhough I had to restain the front porch yesterday.....reminds me of someone saying getting old is not for Pxxxxxx.....waiting for OK on MRI for shoulder......Thank for the reply....hopping for a great day!
Is there a way (or possible future select firmware) that will disable creation of low quality recordings? If the camera is working correctly I personally don't need (why waste processing power & battery) the low quality videos.I understand some people may want that to be email them......Just asking for opinions.........Thanks
@user_585783633887262_585783633887262 Four months usage is rather too short unless they were all defective. One more question.....you stated that cams firmware was upgraded. Did this occur before or after you were experiencing the issue?
To be honest, I wasn't paying attention to the firmware (other that noticing you can't download you can set it to auto or just check for an update).WHEN I started to have problems it was just with one camera and I thought it was due to the camera since I had a spare SD card and replacing the SD card didn't resolve the issue. I got a replacement cam and it had the same problem right out of the box and it's firmware matched the "defective" cam. That is when I contacted Reolink and they asked that I enable them to push updates. All were updated but one and they all had problems EXCEPT for the one that WAS NOT updated. I allowed the update THEN it started having problems. I can't answer the when problem on the one cam that was always working started. I had set it to auto and I clicked "check for latest version" and at that time it didn't update. Several days went by and I noticed the problem and the firmware had been updated (same version as the others)......if it's not the firmware it sure was a good coincidence!I then started asking questions and since there were no other people complaining, I am thinking it was just coincidence and MAYBE it wasn't the firmware. I then ordered some of the suggested Samsung EVO Plus and I'm hoping they will be here today but Amazon's deal was Nov 1-3. I ordered them Sunday and it looks like they still haven't shipped yet.I'll take any suggestions but if I don't hear anything I will reply back after installing the new SD cards.........TBC
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Sorry.....I talk too much and I thought I did answer it. YES, they suggested that I turn ON the auto updates. We so little other replies....it may not be the updates or the cameras.Still waiting for replacement cards to test. I used the Sandisk High Endurance cards due to the amount of usage that they will go through.....it may just be the case that the cards are failing after x about of usage. The oldest card is 4 months old and that was actually the LAST cam to start showing the issues.I'm currently removing some files from a 4k cam that I use inside and then I will be putting that one in one of the cams to see what happens. The only other one I have is for my Drone and that one will stay with the drone What would be good is if someone would start a thread for users to list their experiences with SD cards and durability....Thanks again Joseph!
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 BTW....ordered 2 EVO Plus should be here hopefully Tuesday......Don't think it's the SD cards but weirder things have happened.I did use a sub class 10 card and had not issues other some hi def studder on ocacosion but now I have viewing issues (pixelation, greenscreen for a few seconds then video and files that just don't play).Really appreciate everyone's help!
