Regarding your survey I have two serious problems with your camera's1/ Raindrops particularly at night are reported as vehicle if one is parked in view of camera2/ Spider webs at night are reported as pet etcOn Duo 2 people or vehicle detection is not consistent across the whole field of viewAll camera's do not detect people at long range (20Ft +), both Duo 2 & 12Mpix suffer this issue.
I am being told to upgrade to the latest firmware as a potential fix for malfunctions, however as there is no way back due to Reolinks policy of not making previous versions available, and the fact that in the case of there client software it has malfunctioned after an upgrade -I would like to know if anyone else is running this firmware first please before I brick my camera ?Old fw 3.0.0.1337_22091900New fw 3.0.0.3471_2406115691
@joseph_1979 Thank you for your reply, this sheds a little more light on the problem. Fortunately I have not experienced it again and the server is now running at 6MB/s sustained so perhaps it will just work from now. If it does happen again I will be sure to contact support, I posted here to see if any other users had experienced anything similar.
I have a number of camera's set up to FTP files to a server and are also fitted with SD cards.I recently encountered problems with the SD card either being exceptionally slow to update (several minutes) or in two cases loose an entire days recordings. At first I thought this was an ageing problem of the SD cards but I eventually traced it to buffer overflow within the camera due to FTP backlog.I had the ftp postpone set to 30 seconds but discovered due to a temporary slowdown in the server (due to a slow SSD) the resulting file was taking a lot longer than 30 seconds to transfer so if there were frequent alarms the camera would build up a backlog and eventually become corrupt. The very slow SD writing manifests itself when an alert is received it is found the corresponding SD recording is very short (typically showing 40secs or less and corrupt in that replay fails, however several minutes later when the ftp transfers are complete the recording is suddenly updated to it's true length (several minutes) and playback becomes possible. So it seems Reolink have a classic buffer management problem and SD recordings are not closed/completed till the ftp transfers are complete!I have for the time being increased ftp postpone to 1 minute that alleviates the problem. I hope the problem goes away once I increase the speed of the ftp server but I hope my description helps others with mystery disappearing recordings and slow SD problems, if in doubt switch of ftp!
@user_784224808100067_784224808100067 I had another solution, in my case it was rain causing the same problem, an excerpt from my log"271023 Still really bad, problem is it is classifying rain as cars!! No time periods available for vehicle sensitivity so set small & large object size masks to try & eliminate rain. 2810 just as bad so remove size masks. Instead reduced vehicle sensitivity from 70 to 30. 3010 possibly overdone it as now car not detected down drive way BUT no rain triggers either, increase sensitivity to 45."
@joseph_1979 Well after a few weeks of hammering Reolink support and climbing up the ladder I have an admission they messed up!"I reviewed this whole case and apologize for all troubles caused to you.I confirmed with our senior team, the push feature for common user relates to app version. That's to say the previous app show up the push button for common user, but the latest version is missing."BUT there is no timescale for fixing it.I suggested they get there amateurish software team under proper quality control urgently and they TEST software before release especially that which affects SECURITY.
Unless the device is logged into the ADMIN account!!This started happening on all my devices (6 assorted camera's) about a week ago and I discovered the above work-around (admin) after lot's of testing plus I had a notion I had read someone thinking that before but I don't recall where.I also found I have to delete and re-load some camera's to get the screen to show all the menu options!Ohh almost forgot, camera options selected by PC application do not tally with those selected by mobile devices, nor one mobile device to another, what a lovely mess!!
@user_784224808100067_784224808100067 I had a pair of RLC-810's last winter repeatedly loosing configuration in low temperatures.Eventually I returned them for a refund (still cost me £11 postage) and have not used that model since.I now have DUO2's & RLC1212's and no problems there.BUT I just bought an RLC840 and it has failed completely after a few days indoors, still trying to get Rlink to resolve that one!
Sorry if this has been posted before but there's no search here!I have experienced this both with 810 & Duo2 camera's so assume it's a client software fault. When playing back recording from camera SD card it is possible to zoom in (digital),however when playback is paused the zoom is lost, obviously very frustrating when trying to id faces or read vehicle registrations. Please fix as a matter of urgency.
