Hi, i need to wire up my new wifi doorbell and am wondering if my existing transformer for old mechanical doorbell is powerful enough.
The transformer i have says 8V 1A which i assumed is under powered as the documentation says it needs 12-24V 30VA. But then i read this thread where a moderator said the wattage is 8W which is what my current transformer would be able to supply.

Also, the current doorbell has been wired in using BT telephone wire, instead of bell wire. I'm wondering if anyone knows if that can handle the ampage/load?
Thanks
