@reolink-oskar whilst I do use the Home Hub (to record) the scenario that it does not cover is - temporary wifi disruption between my battery camera (Argus 3U) and the home-hub. In this instance the Argus could in theory - save the video on its own SD card. However - I have elected NOT to use an SD card because the Argus does not encrypt the video on SD card. To me therefore - in the event of a theft of my security camera - I would prefer the cost of replacing the camera, vs the cost of having the images of my family being accessed by the thieves. Therefore - can I put this question back to Reolink - can these battery cameras encrypt to SD card? And if there was temporary WiFi disruption can these videos be synchronised with the Home Hub when WiFi is restored? Thanks.
@onlooker_890638347890931 You are describing charging via USB, which when I discussed with Reolink support they did not recommend (for the Battery Doorbell) because it was not sufficiently rated for water ingress. But with charging via the two terminals (AC/DC) - the Battery Doorbell does not charge simultaneously during the time the video stream is open. When charging by DC current to the two terminals, I measured that it is 0.5 - 0.6 Watts during the actual time it is trickle charging
Ok thanks. I've disabled 2am reboot and will see how it goesNext question - why does the phone App and the Windows Client have different feature sets?Another example : on Android app - can individuall turn on/off the 2G and 5G Wifi, and specify which channel. But not on the Windows client.
It seems that the Home Hub restarts at 2am on Sunday mornings. Is there a way to disable this or change the time? When it reboots - sometimes my Battery Doorbell does not reconnect until something external triggers it (e.g. motion detection) - meaning I cannot access a Live view until it reconnects.
OK thanks. That's a shame - I would not have purchased the SD card if I knew this.
Hi - I have an Argus 3 Ultra, connected to the Reolink Home Hub.On the Android App or Windows Client - I do not have any option to manage the SD Card on the Argus 3U. However if I insert a formatted SD card into the Argus camera, it does record to it.How can I enable encryption for recordings to the SD Card (that is on the camera)? The Home Hub allows encryption for its own SD card. This question also applies to the Battery Video Doorbell, but I have not yet inserted a SD card into it to test yet.Although having the Home Hub means there is no more need to record locally - what I would like to know is how the situation is managed if there is a temporary WiFi failure. Will it upload the videos when the WiFi is reconnected?Thank you
