      Hi all,

i discovered Reolink brand some days ago, for me some big advantages :

      • Compatible with QNAP camera station
      • Able to use FTP (very rare for consumers camera)
      • Can use web browser

I need two cams, one for inside, one for outside (but i guess outside cam can go inside)

My first will is to use PoE : more stable, can put a UPS on the switch to have cams running when power is down, but then choise is small.
I'd like PTZ but then there is only the 823a that is really expensive. Many wifi reolink cams are PTZ and not expensive, why PoE are not
For me zoom is important, but many PoE have it, great

Human detection : is it worst it ? I'm fed up with the cam i have that always gives alarm when it's raining, when there's a spider, ...
Tracking : same question, is there a real interest? I read that sometimes the cam get stuck and do not comes back to the original position

Projector seems a bad idea as it will show clearly that there a cam and it is writen that we should not disabled it to have good night detection.
And last, many have only mic without speaker... quite weird

As i was unable to find a cam that has all (except 823a too expensive) my choice would then be 2x 822a, one for inside, on for outside, hopping human detection will avoid my cats, spiders and leaf !

Please do not hesitate to correct me and give advice, i know the is more choice into wifi cam, but PoE seems to be a best bet

      Thanks a lot

@cehes_547461757526244 If you don't need PTZ, all the PoE cameras with A in the name can support FTP, and person/vehicle detection.

For the RLC-823A, Reolink keeps improving its tracking feature. Sometimes Reolink will put some beta firmware in this Community. I think it functions well enough. It can track the person/vehicle in most situations.

RLC-811A and RLC-822A can be two good options too. They both have optical zoom. But RLC-811A has the two-way audio function too.

@folly Hi, and thanks for this detailled reply.

I ended buying a 820A (for inside) and 822A (for outside). I guess they are the same except the zoom for 822A.
I'll receive it in a few day and see how it works 🙂

            Have a nice day

The cameras I have with the separate people and vehicle detection adjustments never give false alarms. One camera last night had multiple spider webs moving in front of the lens and it never gave an alert although it works fine when cars or people pass by. Another camera often has a large shadow of a blowing flag moving a lot on a parking lot but the camera never sends an alarm for it. They are both RLC-510W. In the adjustments, there are also settings for a minimum and maximum size that the camera should detect but I don't find it necessary to use it, and there's a setting for how long a moving object should be moving before it records or alarms you. The problem I have with Reolink cameras is the wifi. I've repeatedly had to go to cameras and connect with a cable because it couldn't connect to the wifi after a storm. Worst thing is that I never know what's wrong because there's no way to tell what it was trying to connect to when it wasn't working. I just tell it which wifi network to use (again) and it's OK until there's a power off/on situation or the router restarts for some reason. I'm in a rural area where the power goes off and on fairly often and everyone's internet goes off and on at the same time.

@email_525317533946102 Many thanks for that great reply !
I received and setup it today, mainly happy !
That is why i took PoE, i do not trust wifi, but you're right, this should not be so eratic

                Regards
