E1 Outdoor Can I use the ethernet cable for power supply?
The RLC-410 has a power adapter but I don't need to use it.

      Thanks Martin

@martinbarrett_533327547867360 The ethernet cable on the E1 Outdoor is for data only, faster connection to your router than wifi, it's not POE power over ethernet. The low voltage cable powers the camera. I wish Reolink made the E1 Outdoor POE.

@martinbarrett_533327547867360 you could use a PoE splitter, so you only need to run 1 cable if you wish to use it without wifi.

You do need a place to store said splitter though as those are not water resistant. A simple (water-resistant) electrical box will do for that.

I never heard a PoE splitter before.
I will order one and see if it works.

            Thanks.

@martinbarrett_533327547867360 And if your router doesn't provide POE then you need a POE switch. See if having a power socket near the camera is cheaper.

@martinbarrett_533327547867360 as of my reply today, you are right. Only models indicating they're PoE actually have it.

Not a problem for me since I'd buy those wifi cams to actually use over wifi (with the exception of the E1 Pro that I have, since its literally next to the router I just plugged in an ethernet cord). Your best bet for an outdoor PTZ would be the Trackmix (more compact) or the 823A (dedicated optics for zoom) if you want PoE.

                    823A is too big.
The problem is I don't own a smartphone, So wifi is no good for me.

                    Thanks for your help.

You will be disappointed because the E1 Outdoor specs are clear. Power is 12vDC, which is not the same as Power over Ethernet (PoE), which is more than 44V. The Ethernet jack is intended for initial setup (a common feature of Reolink cameras) and is not a PoE jack.

@user_693848588452017_693848588452017 Yes, nominal voltage is 48V (around 15W) which is derived from the power feeds to Telecom equipment. In case of E1 OD you can use the ethernet port even after installation. The newer E1 OD version has POE port.
