Set up the 810A with both an SD card and FTP uploads.

My assumption was that the SD card is a backup media, in case the network has issues, the FTP host is down or whatever other reason.

So last night the FTP host was down for 10 hours, and I have 40GB of data on the SD card from it. However, with the connection now restored and FTP uploads having resumed, it is NOT backfilling. The data from last night that's sitting on the SD card is NOT pushed to the FTP server.

Why not? And how do I get it to do that automatically?

      Cheers

      Stefan

@fuzzy_613000326316691 Transferring of the video to an FTP server and saving the video to SD or a cloud are independent processes occurring at the same time. If the FTP server is unreachable or the SD is momentarily unavailable then the transfer or saving will be ignored. This scenario can also occur with emails in the event the SMTP server is unreachable. Well I agree that they should introduce a retry feature but this will bring a substantial change in the way they transfer files.

Would have been cool if the software engineers had thought of that, but they didn't. The only way I know of to get those motion recordings is to use the Reolink Client (Window or Mac) to select and download them.

Sound like a good topic to post in the Wishlist forum.
