I know how to add and remove cameras and change their passwords via the NVR GUI. I was wondering it if was possible to REMOTELY manage cameras, such as via the client or web interface? I have a DVR at a remote family members house and they are installing new cameras, but I can't seem to find a way to assign the camera a channel number on the DVR. If its not possible, perhaps a feature request for a future software update?

It is possible to manage the cameras on your NVR remotely. But to assign a channel to newly-added camera can only be done on NVR itself ( with a monitor/TV connected of course). Usually when you add a new camera, you gotta scan and assign a channel (maybe automatically be done) to the camera.

I can confirm that at this time moving cameras around via their channel assignments can only be done on the NVR itself when a new camera has been added.  As Reolink continues to improve and add features to the Mobile and Desktop applications, this may be included.  It would make sense in your setup to want to have this ability because of NVRs in remote locations.

Alright. Thank you both for the replies. Definitely something I hope will eventually make it into a future build of the web software.

Here I found a paradox in the first post. Haha...Intersting thing is if you can not access the NVR, how could you even plug the camera to the NVR? Then if you can plug the camera to the back of the NVR, why can not configure the camera on NVR itself.. paradox it is..

Also if you asked your family member to help with plugging, then usually the system is plug-and-play. (Unless it is more complicated in your situation). All basic settings can be done for NVR in my Client.

              Just curious..

I specifically set up cameras using a wrong protocol and then left the state.  Now I cannot change those settings even though I can connect to the NVR remotely. 😐  I hope they add remote camera management at some point.

A side note: I feel that plugging in my NVR into a monitor sucks! I never do that in real life, I always use a computer.  I should be able to plug in a camera and add it from my phone/computer.

@Navi,  You can change nearly every camera setting using the NVR but you are unable to assign different channels to the cameras.  If you want to modify any of the specific camera settings, simply click on the NVR's gear icon in the desktop/mobile client and make sure you use the pull down to select the correct camera.  "Channel 1",  "Channel 2", etc.  Upon selecting this, you can make various modifications.  Also, make sure you save them each time before leaving the specific configuration window.
