Support gave a link to older version I tried all their suggestions and even though the calendar worked after dragging a camera to the center then drag the center back to where the camera was, I found after doing that the live view did not display then. So back to 8.8.5 version.
Here is the link if you are also unsuccessful with 8.10.4

I upgraded to 8.10.4 and on playback I can not get the calendar to pop up to change the date of playback.
Any suggestions?
UPDATED:
I had to install the earlier version support was great but we just couldn't get the new version to run right.

@user_694180074676378_694180074676378 It seems an issue specific to your environment. On my 8.10.4 it is working correctly. It's not easy to know why the calendar is not being popped up. Is your java updated? Try to run the client as Administrator. Try to install it again. If still unable to get the calendar then email Reolink support.
-
@joseph_1979 Thanks might have to reinstall and try. I don't really like the software to begin with but it is what my customer bought.

Ich habe das gleiche Problem mit der Version 8.10.4 neu Installieren und ausführen als Administrator löst das Problem leider nicht.

I reinstalled and still no luck getting the calendar to pop up on playback to change the date. Installed Java and still nothing. Ran as administrator still nothing.
Very frustrated and may need to install the earlier version.
But can not find the earlier version on Reolink site.Reply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

@user_694180074676378_694180074676378 Can you tell me which version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package you have? If not then install this https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x86.exe and re-run Reolink client again.

I was not sure where to look for it and installed the one you mentioned and it still did not pop up the calendar. For not I will have to do like support suggested and to drag the camera from the left to the center and drag the center back to the camera selected to the left again. But the calendar button needs to be blue to display the calendar when dragging back and forth.

support answered said try to drag the camera to the center screen from the left, then drag it back to where it was in the dropdown on the left for the cameras, that worked, the calendar came up.
Make sure the calendar button is blue. If you click on the calendar button it shades to gray, so make sure it is blue before dragging a camera to the center and dragging the center back to the camera area
What a pain but for now this may work for you alsoReply QuoteShare1- Share this Post

@user_694180074676378_694180074676378 I didn't even realize I was having this same issue until I read this.
The dragging of the camera works as a workaround for now.

I am having the same issue with 8.10.4 ... the calendar will not open to allow me to change the date. I am on Windows 10 Pro with Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x86) 14.23.27820 and 2015-2019 Redistributable (x64) 14.25.28508. Why does Reolink not inform us about which versions of MS software we need to allow client upgrades to function properly?

@user_694180074676378_694180074676378 Same issue to me, Just don't install 8.10.4. Not sure what's new for 8.10.4(?), except the malfunction on calendar! So just keep the 8.8.5

@joseph_1979 You state that "It must be the C++/dll library."
I have the 8.10.4 client running on three different computers and the playback date/calendar works on all of them.
Now.... one of them does not have the Microsoft Visual C++ libraries installed on it.
Hence your statement is incorrect, the C++ libraries are not used by the Reolink client, the client is using some other libraries which are not based on Microsoft Visual C++.
You can easily prove this by uninstalling the C++ 64bit library and then see if the client still works. -
@robert-hammond_315369854550200 I said either MS c++ or other dll library.
-
@joseph_1979
Checking deeper today, I think the client does use Microsoft Visual C++ libraries because I have found a local copy of them in the clients folder tree which are probably the versions being used by the client.
C:\Program Files\Reolink\resources\app
An interesting observation if these are the actual dll's being used by the client - there is a version mismatch with the three files which could easily cause many of the reported instability issues.
msvcp140.dll Time Stamp 11th Feb 2021 version 14.28.29910.0
vcruntime140.dll Time Stamp 11th Feb 2021 version 14.28.29910.0
vcruntime140_1.dll Time Stamp 5th Oct 2022 version 14.34.31931.0 -
@robert-hammond_315369854550200 I was convinced that it does use the MS C++ library but I am away and don't have the notebooks.

@robert-hammond_315369854550200 Yes, these are the MS C++ runtime libraries which come with the Visual Studio of 2015. Reolink Win client has been developed using Visual Studio (Recalling the time I used it to develop numerous applications esp IVR applications based on state machines).
-
@joseph_1979 I just had a thought regarding the local copies of the VC++ library files.
One way to force the client to use the system VC++ library files would be to move the local library files out of the client folder tree. I have just done this and the program still seems to work OK indicating either that- the client has always used the system libraries or
- that moving the local copies has forced the client to use the system libraries.
Note that I needed to have administrator privileges to move the files
Importantly the client still works with the three files moved hence I think is safe for the users who have the pop up issue to try.- Shut down the Reolink Client
- I moved out of the folder C:\Program Files\Reolink\resources\app and into another temporary folder location on my desktop the following files
- msvcp140.dll
- vcruntime140.dll
- vcruntime140_1.dll
Then re-started the client
Unsure if this will fix the pop up issue because I do not see the issue with my machines -
@robert-hammond_315369854550200 If not found in the folder where the reolink.exe executes it will use the installed one. They should use the recent libraries and can include the installation of the MS C ++ redist. Package during installation. Anyway every programmer has his/her own way of implementation.

Hi,
thanks for the prompt reply.
On investigation it turns out that the client app is working OK on my windows 11 machine but not on my windows 10 machine.
For windows 10, I have the calendar problem but also the split function does not work to view multiple cameras in the same display.
My C++ was out of date, so I have updated both X86 and X64 to the latest though my machine is 64 bit.
I then did the following:
1) Uninstall reolink app
2) restart
3) install 8.10.4
4) restart
I am still left with exactly the same problem of no calendar function and no "split" function.
I accept that this must be a problem with my environment.
Does Reolink have any more suggestions for me to try please?
Thanks,
Jonathan. -
I also upgraded to 8.10.4 and same problem for me. Only the present day is available for playback in the Windows client.
Calendar worked fine with the previous version.
I got the workaround to work now. -
On an HP Elitebook 2540p running win10 pro with 8.10.4, none of the popups worked; playback calendar or speed, and live view split screen. Reverting to 8.8.5 fixed the problem. On the other hand 8.10.4 seems to work fine on the Dell E5470. Go figure...

I'm using Win7 with 8.10.4, done a complete uninstall then downloaded the 8.10.4 and the c+ stuff. Drag the camera in to the window, cannot change to another day, and I cannot change the playback speed.

I have now installed client V11.1.0 on my windows 10 machine that had the problem and the date issue is fixed, which is good news.
So at least I can stay up to date now. -
@jonathan49 Good to hear that.
