I just downloaded the Reolink software for the RLC-410 (7/20/17). The camera does not have an SD card, movies are saved to a Windows computer hard drive. I can operate the camera well, and view a real-time feed. However, the camera is saving the video files as *.mp4 on the hard drive. Where is Transcode??? It's missing from the program. The Reolink software cannot play the *.mp4 files the camera is recording. According to the instructions, the software used to be able to convert the video format to *.avi, an extension the Reolink software could view. I sincerely apologize if I've missed something, but what the heck?!?!?! Who writes software for a camera that cannot read the camera's native files? I cannot express how dumb it is to distribute a camera program which cannot playback its own files.
I do not see such a program (7/20/17). Maybe you can write a link?
Hi, ".mp4" files can be played via most players. Try microsoft media player, please.
Or VLC which is platform independent player. Works on Android, Windows, Linux, and even Mac!
Hello, So I am having the same issue, software installed on Windows pc and playback won't pull video files... please help. In regards using media player, yes it does works, but the point here is that the software should do it! Would be nice to use the search by date and time feature within the software. Thank you all
hello there, having same issue here. my customer asked me how to retrieve the timeline in reolink windows client. I cannot answer him to navigate into the files/folders and using vlc or windows media player.please give us a patch for local playback. thank you very much.
I think for that you will need to use the REOLINK NVR.For me, I am contend with using File Manager to navigate to the files/folders.
The playback with timeline functionality seems to work flawlessly by the past. It's the ideal solution for end-users who don't want to spend money on hardware. Changing codec"should not" break it. (i know that it may not be easy as ABC)The fact is the customer doesn't want to buy a NVR because it bought only 4 IPCAM per site, and i don't want to lose money with offering him a NVR.I can Use another software like zoneminder, and waste time on assembling computer and installing software? or Should i have to consider another IPCAM Manufacturer?
Hello,Any news for this problem ?
This is the only issue I can find with this product line. I feel that the Reolink PC Client should at least be able to playback the footage stored locally. Mobile playback would be great as well. Axis has this capability. This is a much needed feature!
I have the same problem are Reolink going to fix this.
For models that have built-in microSD card for local recording, or have microSD card slot, they support Playback on Reolink Client. If you have a Reolink NVR, you can also use the Playback to play the stored recordings.Otherwise, the Playback is not for your model(s). And for those clips recorded to your computer hard drive, you can use media player to play them.
Disappointed in this lack of support too. Bought a small stack of RLC-410's and can't utilize Playback feature. I knew I'd eventually find something I wouldn't like.Reolink V7.2.2.7RLC-410
