      Hello,
I am using a iMac with OS Sonoma 14.1 and Using the Mac client 8.8.5 I have zero issues playing or view recordings. Live streams work and Playback does.
The Reolink 8.8.5 said there is an update which I did and it went from 8.8.5 to 8.13.1 and live streams work but play back does not work. I have a NVR and Trackmix and Doorbell and I can view live streams no issues but when I try to do a playback on 8.13.1 it will not playback. I tried the webview and it works no problem and the apps on my Android and Iphone work as well
Mac software 8.13.1 is broken and will playback at all. see photos

I sent in a request already and awaiting a response

@issom I have an issue on the Win v8.14.1 and I rolled back to v8.12.1. Support informed me that engineering team is investigating. In my case the icons bar is not visible as it is superimposed by the image. Solution is easy.

@issom I received 8.14.1 (Windows) to correct the disappearance of the icons bar. They are working on the other issue of low video quality when selecting CLEAR. Once the player is optimized they will release an upgrade.

                @issom

Try disabling hardware decoding first setting to see it alleviates the problem.

@joseph_1979 please provide an update on this issue as the problem is still ongoing. I am using the Mac Client 8.13.1 on Mac with Apple Silicon. Only version 8.8.5 works at this time.

@ecarl42_587145442062992 I suggest you to email Reolink support. Perhaps they have a beta version which you can test out.

Yes, I also have 18.13.1, auto-updated from 8.8.5 (I think that's what happened) and although there are a number of ways in which this version is a big step forward, it is also rather buggy.

For example, sometimes when I launch it the window shows a live view of the last camera I looked at, but all the cameras say "not connected" (including the one you are viewing) and you can't switch to a different camera. Re-launching the software sometimes fixes that but it is a lottery whether it will work correctly or not.

Also when you try to add a camera it often shows the camera in the list but when you try to add it a dialog appears saying "Failed to add device. This device already exists", even though it is not in the sidebar and doesn't get added.

Another issue is that the application almost invariably crashes when you quit.

Finally the application consumes a vast amount of CPU (currently saturating over one whole core on my M2 Pro Mac mini) and shockingly it is still only compiled for Intel chips, three whole years after Apple Silicon was first released.

Maybe Reolink only have one person working on this software and there is a limit to what he can do? It's a shame, because the UI is not at all bad if it worked properly.

@nick_26792935116 They need to improve in testing and coding resources otherwise the competitors will take over this niche,

Reolink should be shamed on this. Ridiculous they haven't come out with any updates and 8.13.1 still crashes upon app exit 95% of the time on Apple Silicon. And still no Apple Silicon version, yet Apple is shipping 3rd generation M3 chips back in April.

Support link on their web site doesn't even show 8.13.1 - just some incredibly old version. Terrible - just awful support for software.

Any updates to this? I can't make 8.13.1 playback consistent. I have to roll back to 8.8.5 to make it work again. I have all the latest firmware for my NVR and cameras.

@issom choppy video could be a result of the camera's bitrate too high. Try lower the bitrate to see if that helps.
