Over the last 6 months I have noticed several glitches and encountered issues that haven't existed before, there are several bugs in the updated software version 8.15.6 to the point that I have reverted to software version 8.8.
It takes a long time for cameras to connect if they ever do, all I get is a connecting, and nothing happens sometimes for hours and I just give up.
Also, cameras are mixed with other systems, e.g (a camera from one client will show in another client's view on the mobile app).
Rolink has been my go-to system for the last 4 years, thus far I have commissioned over (30)- 8 and 16-channel NVRs, and shy of 100 stand-alone IP SD-card cameras, I have considered trying another.Reply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

@user_812858598310079_812858598310079 I have been using the client v8.15.6 for quite some time and have none of the issues you have mentioned. It won't take more than 3s to get to the live view of both local and remote cams (directly).
Versions 8.1X.Y are 64bit clients. Try to uninstall both (32bit and 64 bit) and re-install the 64bit. Then add the cameras. -
@joseph_1979 I tried upgrading from 8.8.5 to 8.15.6 and:
- It installs the new 64-bit to Program Files and leaves 8.8.5 in Program Files (x86) undisturbed
- Launching 8.15.6 I got the dreaded "Error Failed to add device. This device already exists." and uninstalled it again
Do you think the error was caused by the 8.8.5 installation? That I need to uninstall that first, and then add everything to the NVR "from scratch"? Is there a "how to upgrade" somewhere here? -
@tomsreolink First run the 8.8.5 and get the UID of NVR (and that of cameras if and only if they are not directly connected to NVR ports). Uninstall both the 32 and 64 bit clients so it will also clear the relative directories under application data. Then install the v8.15.6 and add the NVR (and cameras if they are not directly connected to NVR).

@joseph_1979 Thank you, I will try that.

@joseph_1979 And it worked. After uninstalling 8.8.5 completely, the install of 8.15.6 needed only the NVR password and that was it. I did have some trouble getting on of my 8 channel cameras to appear in my preferred Multiview, but after some significant fiddling-around it did start working for me.

@tomsreolink Good to hear it.
