Are we ever going to get proper Google Home integration for the doorbell?
Right now, a doorbell press does nothing. It does not automatically appear on Google displays, and while it appears as a starter/trigger in Google home to use to start automations, does nothing from testing (as if never pushed).
I don't have an Alexa display to test if it works for Amazon, but I know the doorbell press button works fine to start a routine in Alexa. That much I've tested, so it seems fully possible but not fully baked with Google.
This is really defeating the purpose of a smart doorbell when the video feed doesn't load when the button is pressed on all smart displays; and you can't even use it to trigger an automation (like when pressed cast to x device at least).
This has been a thing for over a year now pointed out, https://community.reolink.com/topic/5430/doorbell-first-new-firmware-support-more-smart-home-features-onvif-with-two-way-audio/41?lang=en-US&page=3, and maybe/looking into, but nothing solved with it or formal response why its still broken for only Google over a year later. It's smart doorbell 101 stuff IMO.Reply QuoteShare1- Share this Post

@jk1211_705377705345248 Check new fw at Reolink Download Center.

@joseph_1979 Im on the newest firmware that exists, none of the mentioned works still. It's some back end issue in the integration between Reolink and Google (as Alexa works)
It's never worked. Reolink acknowledged (Lorenz from Reolink) in the above thread it wasn't working when I asked a year ago. This is nuts basic doorbell smart home stuff still doesnt work after a year later; lie a doorbell press displaying on your Google smart displays/TV.@jk1211_705377705345248 We are still seeking the best way to support this feature on Google Home. If there is any other news, we will let you know.

@jk1211_705377705345248 What can I say. I am a customer like you and wish that they give more considerations to the customers requests. Their HW is quite good but the sw needs improvements. We are missing a lot of features.
You may request again support on support @ reolink . com -
@jk1211_705377705345248 it's absolutely mad that this isn't a supported feature. So much so I didn't even do the due diligence to research whether it had such a feature set because I presumed "supports Google home" meant the camera would auto appear on any nest screen you tell it to.
Bit annoying really because I was hoping this would work with my nest on my work desk at home away from the front door. -
@jk1211_705377705345248
Same problem here... google home assistant cannot be triggered by the ringing of the doorbell. very disappointing for a "smart" doorbell. I want to automatically see the video stream on my google nest device when someones ringing. This should be a basic feature...! -
@jk1211_705377705345248 you should remove the “works with Google” logo from this doorbell until this is fixed. It’s wild false advertising at this point because nothing about this doorbell works with Google.

Hi guys, I think these requests should be made to google not here. also I tried but nothing, I succeeded via Home Assistant and it works fine. Google nest is not directly compatible with RTSP like for example our Reolink app so even if you could add activate the video it would always have at least 5 6 seconds of lag if it goes well! not the best if you have to answer the doorbell. Maybe those who have Chromecast can stream the IP page of the Video Doorbell to Nest if you don't have the password in the camera.

@sdiriwell_699378058969325 no it isn't Google, Google gives the info how to integrate, its reolinks responsibility to implement properly.
Reolink should just open source firmware and software, apps and just make hardware. because right now reolink makes good hardware but Reilly sucks at firmware and software, apps
