Agree, is there any update as it appears some of the smart home integration needs a back-end update. Its been almost 2 months since this firmware was released (the corrected version).Really need Google Home integration. And to be recognized as a doorbell with button press to live view.
Are we ever going to get proper Google Home integration for the doorbell?Right now, a doorbell press does nothing. It does not automatically appear on Google displays, and while it appears as a starter/trigger in Google home to use to start automations, does nothing from testing (as if never pushed).I don't have an Alexa display to test if it works for Amazon, but I know the doorbell press button works fine to start a routine in Alexa. That much I've tested, so it seems fully possible but not fully baked with Google. This is really defeating the purpose of a smart doorbell when the video feed doesn't load when the button is pressed on all smart displays; and you can't even use it to trigger an automation (like when pressed cast to x device at least). This has been a thing for over a year now pointed out, https://community.reolink.com/topic/5430/doorbell-first-new-firmware-support-more-smart-home-features-onvif-with-two-way-audio/41?lang=en-US&page=3, and maybe/looking into, but nothing solved with it or formal response why its still broken for only Google over a year later. It's smart doorbell 101 stuff IMO.
@reolink-lorenz Is there any new news on this? It has been another 4+ months and the Google Home integration still does not work. It shows as a "doorbell ring" to trigger automations but still does nothing. This is not the other stuff mentioned (and still missing) like "Notification(on schedule): MD/Person/Visitor notification" mentioned, but the actual integration in Google Home automations/routines itself that is showing available but not working. The doorbell press cannot be used to start an automation because it does nothing and broken even though it shows there as a starter. Can we at least get the button press working as a starter for automations (turn on a light, cast the camera to a TV, etc)?Having a doorbell that cannot do anything in the smart home is getting pointless. This would at least let us make an automation to cast the camera to a smart display/TV In Google Home when the button is pressed. Doorbell 101 stuff. Viewing the doorbell when rung on any display/device automatically should be a basic thing by now.
@joseph_1979 Im on the newest firmware that exists, none of the mentioned works still. It's some back end issue in the integration between Reolink and Google (as Alexa works)It's never worked. Reolink acknowledged (Lorenz from Reolink) in the above thread it wasn't working when I asked a year ago. This is nuts basic doorbell smart home stuff still doesnt work after a year later; lie a doorbell press displaying on your Google smart displays/TV.
@jk1211_705377705345248 We are still seeking the best way to support this feature on Google Home. If there is any other news, we will let you know.
@reolink-lorenz Is there some reason this works for Alexa and not Google? I just stumbled across it in the Alexa app and the doorbell press can start a routine and works. Tried the same routine in Google; it shows as a starter but does nothing.
@reolink-lorenz Got it. Is there any way to make the button just work, to use as an automation starter at least? Then I could just say if the button is pushed and use a custom phrase "show doorbell on tv" It would at least work for now to get the live view on displays upon button push, until the company decides what specific actions to give it.
@reolink-fionaIt appears more functionality is working. I can view the live feed in the Google Home app as a camera; Chromecasting to a screen works too.Google Home now recognizes the doorbell as a doorbell device, and a doorbell press as a starter for an automation, but it doesnt work. The routine never runs, like Google is not seeing the button press. Is this a work in progress/bug?
