@reolinkshayla my thoughts on this new version of the app for Android is:

REOLINK DOESN'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!!

because if they did then app wouldn't be in Landscape when viewing live view & Playback which cant get out of Landscape view on my tablet even when i have !my tablet locked on portrait. I even turned the portrait lock off so my screen automatically changes witch still doesn't get out of landscape for live view & Playback. now cant send the preinstalled voice messages. also NOT EVERYONE LIKES OR WANTS LANDSCAPE VIEW!!!!

removed this app from playstore and add older version before this version NOW!!

@reolinkshayla what are my expectations for Reolink?

start supporting current device's and keep the promise's that were made. like ifttt (in 2018 was said ifttt would be supported in 2019 yet here we are in 2024 and still no damn ifttt!!!), separate notifications categories with separate notification sounds (again was promised yet never delivered) i can mention more but i think you already know the rest. stop saying you'll be supporting whatever when in reality you have no plans on actuality delivering on things you say you'll deliver its just false promising to gain customers and i think we all have cought on to your dirty ugly tactics.

@adrian-m_363708397707411 they pick wrong beta testers who we clearly see have NO clue what beta testing means. I've been an alpha as well as beta tester for Microsoft and I know how to beta test.

@myreolink_533265780207845 right now save your money! you will miss most if not all doorbell presses (unless you are near your chime) also no call screen with option to answer or decline when someone rings doorbell. no actual logs that when preased x notification it would present you with video clip playing at time of notification. it actually isn't a video doorbell and tbh they should stop selling it and recall it or refund everyone all their money back they paid for it.

@joseph_1979 shouldn't need a subscription. just pull thumbnail from sd card video or no thumbnail at all. i have a lorex 8x 4k camera system that doesn't need subscription yet I get a detailed log. i can click on x event and it takes me to video of event.

@tonyht and probably never will as reolink doesn't know what they are doing. this feature was said to be in 4.40 yet it wasn't. they keep promising so new buyers dont return b4 30 days. then after the promise and nothing and want to get refund they use the excuse of sorry past 30 days.

As the title says. That being said all users should be getting free 180GB cloud storage FREE of cost until all issues are fixed and also until the damn things actually acts as a what it was advertised as also with app updates for call answer when doorbell is pressed.

@joseph_1979 seems like threatening them with legal action works. I threatened them with legal action for call screen. (Yes its not working but seems like threatening worked)

I do believe I've posted instructions on how to add audio in a way that it dosnt have any background sound and sounds like you just uploaded an actual audio file. When I find my comment taking about it I'll post it here. Or you can search my name and you should be able to find it is this what you are talking about in video? If so here is also the how ro without background sound..can also do usb-c to audio jack as well.

@reolinkshayla question as I don't know if it's been answered yet but can the firmwares for the doorbell be rolled back to older firmware if new firmware doesn't work the way I want it to or issues with new firmware or you can't roll back to previous firmwares?

email I sent to Reolink this morning before I found out fw for both wifi and poe was back on their site.

Yes I'm talking about the Firmware of both wifi and poe doorbells being removed from the download center.

also all wifi, poe doorbell owners were told that we'd get a new firmware for February that includes calling to apple, android devices and here we are in march now and still no fw, however some users have gotten the new fw but not all why is that?

also for the new fw why not utilize both android and apple calling api's for better performance and stability for the calling feature of doorbell?

may I also suggest that you fire all current developers that develop both fw and app as they truly dont have a clue as to what they are doing and hire people that actually know what they are doing?

if not that why doesn't Reolink do this and its probably be better for reolink as it can be a game changer. why doesn't reolink stick with making hardware and release the source code for devices and open source app and fw development this would be a game changer for the Home Security DIY industry and will make Reolink number 1 as the first ever to be fully open source making reolink hardware and software/apps better for reolink and better for reolink community

@artech was the update auto update pushed or did you manually update? why would they release auto update knowing they didn't test the damn thing first before releasing is beyond me. this is why I have my Auto update Firmware turned off. a video doorbell is a security camera meaning the manufacturer should NEVER push firmware, firmware should be manually installed by owner just in case issues with fw happens and not around to fix issues means whats the point in it being for security if for lets say pushed fw broke the recording features or any other important features?!.

@joseph_1979 I bet they used beta testers who don't know what they are doing or looking for when beta testing. reolink had potential but has lost their creditably in my books.

@user_746623229407444_746623229407444 their new terms of service/ and terms of use says that they are not responsible of any failure, loss, damage and you can only claim $100 or less. meaning of their auto upgrade/update firmware and lets say they dont know current weather and a storm is in area and device tries to update but you lose power and it damages/bricks device or just the upgrade itself even after successful upgrade the firmware might have a bug in it that bricks device. so its always best to disable auto update and wait for other reviews on new fw before upgrading to new fw.
