Really impressed with the Argus 2 - easy set up, great picture quality etc - but o recieve hardly any notifications and I can’t activate it if I jump up and down waving. Camera is set about 5m high to overlook a wall where cars are parked PIR set to high and it won’t even notice cars parking or leaving! Only motion it regularly detects is bottom left when the gate opens!
Could this be a faulty cam.?

@Philip, I don't have an Argus 2 but it may have the same issue as my C1 Pro.

When the C1-Pro is mounted to the ceiling (base pointing up), the motion detection grid is mirror image for vertical detection. Meaning, I had to define the grid to cover the bottom half of the displayed picture in order to actually detect at the top half of the picture.

See the attached screenshot. This is how I had to set the motion detect grid to AVOID detecting my dog walking on the floor at the bottom of the picture.

I don’t have that option with the Argus! I’m trying to find out whether it’s a limitation in the range ( I’m getting conflicting information from Reolink about this) or that the camera is faulty - it only seems to pick up motion at the bottom left of the view !

All I need to know is whether the PIR can detects at the 33ft (10m) as stated in the advertising - or only the 7m A’s has been suggested by a Reolink rep. If the former I can assume a fault and return it for a replacement - if the latter then for a refund!

                Hi Phili,
Here is the screenshot from the manual regarding the detection range:

Indeed ..! I have read it many times but it bears little relevance to the performance of my particular unit. Furthermore I have now ascertained that it fails to detect motion approaching the camera even when in the only spot it seems to detect motion in the opposite direction !
Can I now safely assume my unit is faulty ?

Attatched picture shows regular detection of neighbour leaving via back gate. If I walk into the same space from out of range I am never detected. The distance is barely 3.5 metres from the base of the wall upon which the Argus is mounted.
I really want this unit to be faulty as if indeed it works as described it could be a fantastic bit of kit !

                        Dear Philip,
You may have to face the Argus downwards a little bit as the person is not in the detection range (although still visible in the images) of the PIR sensor beneath the lens.

After altering the angle I took the below photos whilst tethered to the camera with the PIR alarm activated - whilst walking towards the camera it did not activate on a single occasion. If however I walked into shot from the bottom it activated immediately ( see final picture ) That simply cannot be right ?

Returned my Argus 2 today. Can I please just get a definitive about the actual range of the PIR sensor - nobody seems to be willing to tell me - not here or directly in a registered discussion. I really like this product but if it can’t detect effectively beyond 5 metres it’s basically of little use to me. !
In your honest opinion people at Reolink - do I get a replacement as you think my unit was faulty -or is 5 to 6 metres about the limit in range -which is contrary to the product description?
