I have set up an Atlas PT Ultra using the app and it is working fine as a standalone camera. I want to add it to my 16 channel NVR (RLN16-410) but it does not appear on the list to be added. I have checked that the firmware on the NVR is up to date. I have another WiFi camera (RLC-810WA) connected to the same access point as the Atlas PT Ultra and that has been added to the NVR with no problem.

      Any advice gratefully received.

@user_744973684297915_744973684297915 Depends on the HW version of your NVR. Check it out at https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000602543-Comprehensive-Guide-to-Reolink-NVR-Hardware-Versions/

Go to their download center and check the latest firmware. If newer then upgrade it.

@joseph_1979 Thank you for your reply. I have hardware version N6MB01. According to the link you referred me to this hardware version “Supports some battery-powered cameras starting from NVR firmware version v3.5.0.321_24060750”. My NVR is on version v3.3.0.226_23031621 and on the app (and when I looked on the NVR) it says this is the most current version available.

The NVR is at a remote location so I don’t currently have access to it. Is it possible to manually update the firmware to v3.5.0.321_24060750? Alternatively, if I wait long enough presumably the NVR will automatically update to the newer firmware version?

@user_744973684297915_744973684297915 The auto update doesn't work. They have to push the fw to your UID.

So you need to upgrade it manually. You have to transfer the downloaded file onto a USB. The procedure is simple and you have to be on-site.

Follow the procedure outlined in https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/34817575507481-How-to-Manually-Update-Firmware-for-Reolink-Devices/

@user_744973684297915_744973684297915 I have my Altas camera connected to my NVR, but mine is RLN36 -- I can't imagine it wouldn't work with yours with the latest firmware (I think I had to update mine before it worked.) Aside from that, if you really need to connected to your NVR network (you could add them by IP) I wouldn't do it. Once the Altas -- or any other battery camera I think -- is on that NVR network, updating the firmware also no longer works either. Also, the battery levels on Mac and I assume PC clients also do not report the correct battery level.

I needed my Altas to be on my NVR so I could connect them to Scrypted and HomeKit -- so I needed the server ports active. I had to update my firmware once on one of the cameras and it's a royal pain because that meant I also had to redo all my settings in my other places. I asked them to push the firmware and supplied the UID to them, but it never worked. They said they did it. I finally got them to email me a copy of the Altas firmware, which they were a little reluctant to do.

I am not super happy the the Altas cams for this reason. Since they don't post the firmware for these cameras, I have no idea if mine are on the latest firmware or not. Also, on the iOS app since the updates, I can no longer set the recording schedule in the app, I have to log in to the NVR to do that. It's very annoying.

@joseph_1979 Thank you. I will try a manual update. Just be clear when you say “The auto update doesn't work.”, are you saying that the NVR will never update to any new firmware unless it is done manually?

@user_744973684297915_744973684297915 Correct. I have never had an instant where the cameras and the HHP performed an auto upgrade. However, there are a few instances where Reolink push a firmware..........but it's rather a rare instant. You need to check at their download center. And if it is a battery cam then you need to contact support to check.

We have been telling them to automate this as is being done by their competitors. Still awaiting :).
