Suggestion: Client for Amazon Firestick

How about a video replay client for the Amazon firestick? It would be nice to have an inexpensive way of playing video from Reolink cameras at at TV. I was able to install the android APK on the Firestick and it ALMOST works! It looks like changes are required to support a different screen size on the Android Reolink client build.

This would be epic. I've been struggling on ways to connect my nvr to my TV without running 100 mets of cable around the house and through walls.

Does the apk work at all?

It does somewhat work, but the result is not usable. You can see the video is terribly compressed in height and the menu navigation is not fully functional. I am only able to log into cameras that have no password.

Yeah that looks pretty unusable which is a pity. I wonder if there is other tricks that could be used.

I have the app working pretty good on my firestic. I actually had to download an android app called apps to fire.(see link below) Once I configures the Reolink app on the firestick the display was compressed. so next I downloaded an app called set Orientation, it orients the screen automatically for any app on my fire stick. Yo will need a key board to configure the reolink app. There are plenty of youtube vidoes on how to install and use these apps.

I mostly followed this guide except I ended up using a USB OTG cable to add a physical keyboard/mouse to control my Fire TV in order to add 2nd/3rd/etc cameras to the Reolink app. Now I'm pleased that the app loads into my 2x2 camera view by default. Definitely need a native Fire TV Reolink app.

download orientation app on firestick (runs in background)
also mouse toggle app on firestick (double click on firestick pay button and toggle mouse appears)

then when Reolink app opens on firestick
you can use mouse toggle to log (nvr user and pass) then you can see your cameras
only tricky bit is trying to get split screen 4cams rather than one cam image but it’s possible
think I had to use a older Reolink apk file
I updated the Reolink apk app on firestick and then I could only see one cam at a time so went back to older apk app
works great on upstairs tv

This process will not work on Android TV. For that you would need to know programming. Its a little more involved. But that's what they pay their developers Definitely needed.

I guess i will have no choice to wait for Reolink to come with a TV app.
Seems it might be awhile as this posts back 2 years on some threads people were asking for one.

If not will just get a firestick and try your way.
Does your way work 100% and will it work with an nvr ?

They will spare no effort to work on it and will publish a new TV app that is compatible with the TV in the future. I have installed the Reolink app on my FireStick Tv, but I am not able to "Agree and Accept" the condition because, with the remote control of the Amazon FireStick TV, the focus can me moved only on "Term & Conditions" and "Privacy Policy".




How you have fixed this problem?
