I have tried to update the firmware via the web page and via the Windows client software. When I download the firmware update I have the PAK file, but the software is looking for a *.IPC_51316M file. It will not take the PAK file even if I rename it to the extension the software is looking for. I am currently on:Firmware v2.0.0.126_18052201CFG Version v2.0.0.0HW version IPC_51316MModel RLC-420Thanks!
AFAIK, this is the most recent fw available (dated 2018may22). I only see *180207 fw (2018feb07) on the reolink.com/firmware site.
Bill did you ever come up with a solution to this? I am having the same issues, I reached out to support and apparently i'm on the most up to date firmware.. However my 410WS cameras actually accept the .pak firmware.
Just got my RLC-420 and it came with 18060901. However, I did notice that the firmware update tool will only accept a *.IPC_51316M extension file also and not the *.PAK file extension.
That doesn't work either, I tried I guess the format must have changed for those who recently bought? Hopefully Reolink will post something letting us know.
I just got my first relink RLC-410 (same as RLC-420 but in a bullet case) and had the same problem but I found this help article (Edited 3 hours ago) which could be contorted into saying that they have a new generation of cameras with the same model numbers but different hardware versions (in my case IPC_51316M instead of IPC_3816M) and they wont be in the firmware download page until they release the first update. I'm just glad it checks the upgrade package instead of bricking itself.
Thanks atomicwrite, that makes sense and the link I think confirms what many of us suspected that these new versions will not read the older format firmware files. It sure would be nice though if Reolink would update the download page to reflect the firmware posted is only for the first versions.
