Need auto dissabling motion alarm on cruising moving time. Now are large flow of alerts by cruising moving, so important alerts on stay on cruise time present can be missed. It will very usefull to have motion detect area and sensitivity for each Cruise Present point separately.
Thank you audrdem. I will forward this request to our R&D team. They will discuss those requests from users in routine meetings. Your request could probably be adopted.
Hi Bob,to use the PTZ camera for what it is together with motion detection, it's realy a necessity to have it working the way audrdem requests. Otherwise one generates lots of Pic/videos just by using ptz which is kinda unfortunate.Do you have any news about when this can be put into place? If not can you please post an update when this information gets available?CheersCosmo
Dear Cosmo,We made some investigation of similar products on the market. There a few that supports the requested request. And customers made criticism that this made them miss the important incidents when they pan/tilt the camera and held the manufacturer responsible. So we discard the idea. We think they just had a point. When you live viewed the camera and found something abnormal, you PTZ to get a better view of it, and it's JUST not recording on motion (to the NVR). That's bad. Maybe there is really something there and you want to record them down, but this could just gets missed out. So you see, customers request polarized here. We may review the request again if there is any progess on it. Or there is more intelligent method to it.Thanks.
Maybe I need to change the need for improvement. It requires that the camera alert when the motion detected in monitored area using the pan/tilt/zoom camera, but do not give an alert if you only use the camera's pan/tilt/zoom and there is no motion in the monitored area.
And how are with "It will very usefull to have motion detect area and sensitivity for each Cruise Present point separately." Or please just motion detect area setup for each cruise present point separately.
Hi Bob,
customers made criticism that this made them miss the important incidents when they pan/tilt the camera and held the manufacturer responsible. So we discard the idea.
When you live viewed the camera and found something abnormal, you PTZ to get a better view of it, and it’s JUST not recording on motion (to the NVR). That’s bad. Maybe there is really something there and you want to record them down, but this could just gets missed out.
It kinda seems that Bob lost interest in our requests. No answer after several weeks. That's sad, because overall I like the camera. But if this is how legit customer requests are being treated, it makes you think twice before buying another reolink camera.Cheers Cosmo
I HOPE that you cosmo454 are wrong about Bob and all Reolink support (summer/holiday time).I would like that PTZ camera can motion detect in monitored area while using the pan/tilt/zoom (Cruise Path) of the camera, but do not give an alert if you only use the camera’s pan/tilt/zoom (cruising speed) and there is no motion in the monitored area. If it is too difficult to do, then at least to have the possibility to disable motion while camera is moving (cruising speed), but detecting motion while the camera stays on cruise present point. And yes, Is there any reason why we can assign only one Cruise Path?
Hi guys, please do not get frustrated, we are planning on holding a meeting to sort out and discuss the ideas from you guys. Please do not got me wrong and understand my dilemma that I have to defend for you guys facing the programmers and convince them to integrate the request, along with a lot of other work to do. Hope to get your kind understanding.
Well said!I can understand your situation as I was once before in this line. So, no pressure there!Take it easy and yes, the programmers are the ones we need to convince them to provide the features or to fix bugs.Personally, as a programmer myself, I opt more for bug fixing rather than features....lol.Just my 2 cents.
Bob, you a right, but at the same time wrong. I think without the possibility to detect motion on cruising or at least while cruising on present points, I think it the loss of the purpose of acquiring a PTZ camera.
The new firmware, same - old problems.
I lost hope on Reolink, bought two others cam from Hikvision.
They are on the way DS-2DE4220IW-DE
Guys,Hate to let you down but the truth is this feature request didn't get approved. Partly because this is not a easy job to do.Can't say anything more except sorry. But we have many other new features realized. Cheers on that.
Thanks Bob for the info about RLC423 features request. One question: which new features you mean for RLC423?
Before realizing new features better fix your old problems! Is the shitty autofocus fixed now with the new firmware?
Welcome Back!
