I think I already know the answer to this but I've been running a single wifi camera as above for the last 6 months, I've been impressed with it's reliability and ease of use. I've decided to add another couple of cameras but I'm considering switching over to PoE instead, does anyone know if this cameras has the ability to operate using PoE instead of wifi I understand it will work with the ethernet connection but wondering if it will need to still be powered via the mains connector? Many thanks for any input.Nick.
No, the RLC-410W camera does not support PoE. It can be connected using ethernet or WiFi, but either way the power must come from the 12v power supply. Bummer.
Yes, the answer is correct. The power must come from the 12V power supply no matter in which way you connect this camera. If you are interested in the WiFi camera that doesn't need to connect to the power supply all the time, you can consider the Reolink battery-powered camera.Battery operated security cameras are usually 100% wire-free cameras (from top to bottom). Require no other power, no cords, no wiring! So you easily move your Reolink 100% wireless battery security camera anywhere, and set it up in minutes.
