I just installed four cameras on the weekend and have noticed something that is a bit concerning.Looking at the attached screenshots you'll notice that in the one below, when it is truly dark outside, night vision appears to be showing a "blur" effect on the outer edges. Now, to be fair, this could be that I haven't cleaned the dome since installation.Playing devils advocate on myself, I've also attached another screenshot. While not taken at the same time, it was dark enough to turn on night vision. There is no visible "blur" at this time.Has anyone else had this issue? I'm hoping that it's a matter of cleaning the dome but am also worried about that viewed in the secondary screenshot, that night vision was pretty clear before it was too dark outside. Thanks for any help.Screen-Shot-2019-09-11-at-10.47.41-PM.pngScreen-Shot-2019-09-11-at-10.49.55-PM.jpg
May I know if the model of your camera is RLC-422? It looks like the stain on the lens, please clean up the lens and check if the stain still exists. If the blur is still there, that might be the reflection of the glass cover, we recommend you adjust the installation position for a further check.
They are RLC-422's. I was hoping it was just the dome and not the lens itself however I will clean both to check. In terms of installation, they (the camera housing/dome) are currently placed where I want them but I have not moved the position of the lens as of yet.Mostly I was hoping this wasn't a hardware defect but it appears it may just be cleaning/positing of lens (which I plan on attempting as soon as I can).
Hi, I have exactly the same problem with my new RLC-422. The Camera is positioned rather high above ground like 3-4 meters and the lens is tilted so that it points down to ground beneath. I turned out the IR and it suddenly it was not blurred any more. If that is the case with the RLC-422 I should have bought a RLC-410 or 511. Any advise on how to avoid it. Regards, Jacob
Does the blurry image still exist after you clean the lens? The blurry image might be related to the reflection between the dome glass cover and lens, you could adjust the installation angle to see whether it work better or not. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I, too, have this issue. Clear as a bell during the day but blurry at night. RLC-4222019-10-11-22-31-34-1.jpg2019-10-11-22-29-36-1.jpg
I was able to fix my issue by simply cleaning the dome inside and out. Now it appears it will just be general "maintenance" to keep things clean.
Is it convenient to change a different direction or installation position to see whether it is better. If it is still the same, please submit to support@reolink.com for more help.
