We have two RLC 420s that we view from a Windows PC and also from a mobile phone. For some reason our password records have gone missing and we have one camera that we can login to although we do not know what the password is and the other camera we cannot log into at all because the password has disappeared completely. Is there any way to reset the cameras so we can set the passwords up again? And I hope this does not involve physically getting to the cameras as they are very high up on the walls in which they are set!
Sorry to tell you that you need to remove the camera and reset the password. The password you set on another camera can't remind you of the old password.
Good morning CynthiaSorry indeed! That will need scaffolding.Do you mean that there is a physical reset button on the back of the camera? Is this button hidden when you screw the camera onto the wall? Please note I can gain access to the power supply the cameras from the inside of the premises so I can power cycle them very easily. Is there any information on the packaging for the cameras that would help?
Good morning,I just realised that there was a link in your original reply where it says "Press the Reset button and hold on, then power on the camera while pressing the Reset button."That reset button seems to be on one of three leads coming out of the camera?I cannot really remember if my camera really has three leads, but it has only has one lead coming through the wall being the power over IP feed which connects to our network
Yes, RLC-420 has three cables. The power cable, reset cable and network cable. You need to press the reset button for 10 seconds to reset the password. Please be careful to climb the scaffold. Sorry for any inconvenience caused to you.three-cables.png
Good morning again, CynthiaPlease note this is not an inconvenience, it is an absolute bloody pain.Putting up scaffolding to reach these cameras would cost twenty times the cost of each camera in each case, so is not a question of just being careful it is a question of bashing the bank account which I am absolutely not going to do.I am completely frustrated that a device that I can see in a web browser from its fixed IP address cannot be accessed in any other way and cannot be reset remotely
Good afternoon again CynthiaNo response to that I see - luckily I have a friend with a ladder who is being helpful - I just hope others are not in a similar situation. Why this strange design?
If you still are able to access the camera via any of your devices or web browser, you may restore the cameras and create a new password: https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003610473-How-to-Restore-Reolink-Products If none of your devices can access the camera, you will have to hard reset it by pressing the reset button.
