Will this work with my 1 x 8CH NVR RLN8-410??
Hello, please provide the system information of the NVR. Then we will check whether it can work with your NVR.Thank you very much.
I have the H3MB18 which Lorenz indicated supported this feature. It came with the B800 cameras, at they supported? or is the RLC-520A and RLC-820A the only cameras that support this feature?
Hello diivious, the NVR with H3MB18 hardware will work with the new smart detection cameras, including 510A, 810A, 520A, and 820A. The smart detection feature requires a hardware upgrade with an advanced chip inside the camera so we cannot upgrade the B800 cameras to support the smart detection feature. Hope this clarifies.
Can you explain why H3MB16 will not with smart protection?https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000602543-Hardware-Version-of-Reolink-NVRs
Hi kenmaples, NVRs with hardware H3MB16 come with older chips and they are not compatible with new software and other functions to support the smart detection cameras. Hope this clarifies.
OK, i understand the B800 does not support it, and cant be upgraded. If I buy the RLC-810A, will it work with the RLN16-410(H3MB18) hardware? and if it is supported, will that provide smart detection? If the RLC-810A will not work with the RLN16-410, do you offer an NVR that does offer smart detection?
@diivious I posted a link above that shows there should be an update to permit H3MB18 to function. It seems that I was unfortunate enough to have purchase a system just last month and it was H3MB16 and will be unusable. I am not sure why the NVR limit exists as the updated cam hardware is said to be doing the detection on device.
@Community ManagerThe Amazon listing that I purchased lists this NVR with:Flexible OperationThe 8MP/4K PoE NVR works perfectly with all Reolink 8MP, 5MP and 4MP PoE IP cameras and WiFi cameras, providing users with enough flexibility for 24/7 recording, motion detection alerts, live views, playbacks, and many other beneficial features.May be worth updating these listings as not supporting Reolink's latest functionality with smart detection.
Thank you so much for your sharing. If you have any problems, please submit a ticket via https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Hi @diivious, you may upgrade your RLN16-410 NVR with the latest firmware here, http://bit.ly/RLN16-410, and your NVR will be able to support the smart detection cameras including the 810A. Hope this helps.
I have the RLN16-410(H3MB18) DVR and used the link provided above to upgrade the DVR (http://bit.ly/RLN16-410. The DVR now reboot about every 60 seconds. Is there a way to downgrade the DVR software? Is anyone else having this issue?

My present NVR software is H3MB16, for my RLN-800 cams. I understand that I will need to upgrade my NVR to a RLN16-410 for my soon to be addon 4K CAMS RLC-810A to function (total of 11 cams). I will be adding 2 to my clan of 4K cams. However, per your advertisement, why does it only allow a max of 8TB for the RLN16-410, while the new RLN8-410 NVR allows up to 12TB? I want to make sure that I am purchasing the latest NVR which supports the Person/Vehicle Detection feature. I think the ones on Amazon are old.
