I have an Argus Pro, and Argus 3 Pro and an Argus PT.

All have solar panels, yet they charging icons are all different. See the attached picture.
The argus pro is showing 100% full, with a sun beside it, and the battery is showing green, but with a power symbol inside it.
The argus 3 pro is also showing full, with a sun beside it, but the battery is showing Blue, with no power symbol inside it.
The argus PT shows a power symbol where the others show sun, and also shows green. Its only at 99%, but even when at 100% it shows the power symbol.

Why all the different symbols, and colours

          1. Charging through solar panel. Even showing 100% it is still being charged.
          2. Fully charged. And this has been charged through solar panel.
          3. This is being charged through an adapter.

Nope, all three cameras are connected to solar panels, none are connected to a charging adapter

@imcneill_467871306096807 So there is a bug in the third case. Send an email to support on support @ reolink . com (delete spaces as site doesn't allow me to include email addresses).

                @spanciul_260353017975036

i did some tests the other day, it depends on how deep you plugged in the usb c cable.

Plug the solar panel usb-c all the way in (there is dot on the usbc cable) = 'sun' icon (sun icon will be shown day and night and a 'lightning' icon when charging with Sun).

Plug the same depth as the dc power usb-c cable = 'plug' icon (disappeared when there is no light, appeared with a 'lightning' icon when charging with Sun)

Battery percentage shown will be about 15-20% less when you unplug the usb-c on this 'Sun' icon mode.

                (this has been discussed here:

                https://community.reolink.com/topic/4069/argus-3-pro-with-solar-panel-always-at-100-battery

and official answer is here: https://community.reolink.com/topic/1061/app-s-solar-battery-indicator-connected-to-solar-panel)

Possibile that Reolink don’t reply to this matter . What the meaning of the Blue Logo without the flash symbol and Green Logo with the flash symbol I have the same trouble to understand if the solar panel charge the camera or not .
i ask to the support and only said the blue one is when the solar panel don’t charge . But because there is no sun or because there is an issue ?

@daniele-francesconi_370190851416246 The flash sign means charging. The sun denotes solar panel and if there is a plug then this is being charged through an adapter. Moreover the battery symbol is green on Android client and blue on Win client.

check my answers to this post, it will clear your point.

                      in summary,

blue bar = solar panel connected, no flash/lightning icon means not enough sun light to generate charging (device not charged)

green bar = dc power connected = with flash/lightning icon means the dc power is charging to device

some depth discussion - check out my other typing in this post.

I have the same issue. 2 out of 5 cameras are showing the power adapter logo, instead of the sun panel. All 5 cameras are identical, using the same Solar Panel 2, same wifi, same firmware, same everything. However, 2 are wrongly showing the adapter logo during the day. During the night, it dissappears and only the battery icon is shown.

What is more strange is that one of the 2 having the issue used to show the sun symbol, and then all by itself, switched to the adapter icon.

                      Tried rebooting them, no luck.

                          Same issue here.

But I can explain a bit more than reolink.

Camera no. 1 and 3 connected with solar panels but showing DC power mode, for somehow we do not know how this happen, it maybe the depth of the USB C when you connected, this is showing as DC power charging instead of solar even solar has been connected.

This mode is great (with plug icon and solid green bar shown), maybe it's not good for battery life but the battery percentage shown is the real and current and it will be charging even with small amount of Sun.

I can not figure out how to make all my battery cameras at this DC power mode (with Solar panel connected), because I wish my all devices at the DC mode.

Your number 2 picture, it is a solar panel connected mode, it designed and supposed to be like this when solar panel connected (with Sun icon and solid blue bar shown on app).

However, on the solar mode, battery shown is 20% less than the actual battery, where you can unplug the USBC to see the real battery percentage, for example, when you unplugged, the battery percentage will be shown 80% (Real) While solar panel is connected , it will be shown 100% (forged?) , reolink says it is designed to protect battery life, so at 80% real battery percentage, the solar panel connected mode will not charging the device, this has been discussed on lots of threads before when I searched the forum.

The solar mode, the solar panel is not actively charging the device, on some cloudy days it won't charge, but with DC mode , same cloudy days , it will still charge slowly.

Hope it helps and reolink can make firmware update to address this issue, as it has been sitting there for years .

I just opened a support request with Reolink about this. Hang on tight, it’s been a mess so far - even struggling to understand the issue. Although I have added screenshots, loads of text and a link to the thread…
