I have several cameras over several different slow links.  I am unable to upgrade the firmware on these cameras because the upload process keeps timing out.  I'm also having a hard time updating settings and not able to update firmware using the Reolink client, as it keeps erroring out.

It seems that the processes mentioned above are far, far too aggressive on timing out when dealing with slow and high latency links.  Please back off on the timeouts and give the data time to get there.

Hi, please kindly confirm all of your camera cannot upgrade via Reolink Client or only some of them? And what is the slow link you mean? If it is possible, please kindly send email to support@reolink.com then they will help you to solve it.

I have 3.  One of them is on a 1M/100K DSL line...Yes, 100K upload.  The camera does not work well with either the Reolink client or the web page.  With the client, if always says it failed accessing the parameters.

The only way to use the camera is the jpg snapshot feature, which works fine.

I was able to physically get to the camera last week and update it with the latest September firmware, but I'm still having the same issues.

When we go over our data cap, we have to connect via 128k and I can confirm that the experience is quite bad.  It seems like there is a very short time-out for operations.  The camera will also often "fail to open", which really sucks.

Hi, guys. Do you mean when you wanna upgrade firmware of IP camera remotely, the time-out problem occurs and upgrade fails? I made this guess based on what you posted here.
Anybody can explain why there is a situation like "one of them is on a 1M/100K DSL line". I think this is quite old-fashioned sys.. Plan to upgrade the connection first?

If I could upgrade the line, don't you think I would?  Not every location in the world has access to fiber connections.
