I just added 2 E1's to my system of 4 others. Very surprised to find the new E1's have ethernet ports. The old ones don't! This will be a godsend as the wifi only ones often drop from the network. Is it reliable to assume new E1's (and Pro and Zoom) will have Ethernet? Also, does this mean the new E1's will have OnVif?
Lots of disappointment here - the port doesn't seem to work! If I plug in an ethernet cable to my router, the camera is disconnected from wifi and does NOT connect to the router. WTF?
Did you buy the new E1 Outdoor cams? I don't have one yet, but on Reolink Reddit community someone said these have an ethernet port to plug into an NVR, but they are NOT POE, you still need to plug in the low voltage to power the camera. I don't know if new indoor E1, E1 Pros, etc. also have ethernet ports. If so, they still need to be powered with low voltage adapter. You should be able to control the camera with Wifi phone app without plugging its ethernet into your router. The camera should also be controlled by a Reolink NVR when it's ethernet cable is plugged into it.
We are sorry for the issue caused. When you connect the cable to the router, did you check the status light of the camera? Is it blink or solid? What will happen if you unplug the cable?
Cynthia,The light remains off - no change. But the camera drops off the network when I plug an ethernet cable into it which is connected to the same access point. Is there a switch or setting somewhere to "activate" the ethernet?
Nothing on the packaging indicates "outdoor". Just "E1". Odd though...the E1's are supposed to be 3MP and the box states it is 5MP. The app shows its just E1 (not E1 Zoom or E1 Pro). And still, the bonus ethernet port does nothing except knock the device off wifi. I'm not using the ethernet for power, just network. Cam is powered thru its power port.

There are no settings to "activate" the ethernet.Could you please contact our support team at support@reolink.com to troubleshoot? If the camera is defective, we will handle the warranty according to our policy.
