It became painfully obvious to me tonight that autofocus with the RLC-423 hinders you more than it assists you. We had a suspicious vehicle in our cul de sac. It was driving very slowly. I used my front yard PTZ to try and zoom into identify the vehicle and possible the driver. The auto focus hunted back and forth and when I manually focused it immediately hunted in front of and behind the needed focus point.

I cannot merit keeping this system with this type of set back. With your slow overall response time I cannot hold on to the system assuming you will add the feature to disable autofocus. It not only caused a missed opportunity in this case but hunts on static objects during cruise mode at night.

I really need the ability to disable auto focus on the RLC-423, it simply doesn't work reliably enough and sometimes struggles even during the day. At night the auto focus is unreliable enough that I cannot really move my camera when it's dark. This camera spends 99% of the time looking at a driveway my property and one other is entered through, but when I do move it there is usually a good (and security related) reason such as a phone call from the neighbor about something going on. I can't spend my limited time before I have to make more phone calls (e.g. sheriff) trying to focus to determine what exactly is going on.

Supporting full manual focus on pre-sets would be an excellent way to allow those of us having problems to at least mitigate the problem. Everything else is great!

            Hi guys,
I will forward this request (manual focus on pre-sets) to our R&D team. They will discuss those requests from users in routine meetings. Your request could probably be adopted and implemented in future products/software updates.

I agree also. A way to turn off auto focus and to lock the focus at a setting say at infinity would be a great help. Also a finer granularity in the manual focus is needed. Each tap on the focus button moves the lens too far.

Thanks for your idea about the finer granularity. Your thoughts will be collected.

Seems maybe Reolink is pushing off update and needed changes on current products and focusing (pun intended) on their new product releases. New stuff is great but not supporting current products is not going to generate return customers.

                      Dear rz22g,
It's not like you said that we have pushed off updates on current products but we are always seeking ways to improve, not only on new products but also on currect products. Please kindly understand that some features are easy to implement while others not so easy. Always easier to raise a problem than find the good solution. And for some features some people like it while others don't. Please rest assured that we never stopped and will continue to support on our current products. We value your feedback and welcome constructive criticism.
