Just checking..... Is there any model of PoE camera that is able to turn off the infrared LED's (similar to the capability in the Argus line)?

I have dealt with my "flying insect" and "spiderweb" issues by installing separate IR illuminators that cover the same viewing area, but draw the insects away from the Reolink camera. No more constant "motion events." However, it is a chore to cover the Reolink LEDs and cut out holes for the lens and light sensor. Would be MUCH easier if the LEDs could simply be turned off programmatically.

      Thanks

My latest 5MP 410's can do this but...the option is not available when the cameras are directly hooked up to the reolink NVR, only when powered from a POE switch, assigned a IP on my network and logged into directly. Now why can you change the option when logging into the camera vs NVR... Who knows.

Please make sure the place you install the camera has ample light if you turn off the infrared LED. You can refer to Which Reolink Camera Supports Infrared Lights Option to learn more about the PoE camera that supports infrared LED.

Carl the OP already stated "by installing separate IR illuminators", his question was can he turn off the cameras IR. Why can they be turned off when you log directly into the cameras but not when you go thru the NVR (windows client)?

See attached, same camera, same time. Camera runs through a separate POE switch and is not directly connected to the NVR but the NVR see's it and adds it. If you access directly to the camera you have the option to turn off IR lights (verified that it does turn them off), if you access through the NVR the option does not exist. Personally I would expect a Reolink NVR to have access to all the settings of a Reolink camera. I would assume this should be a simple update as the function is already there.

Reolink support also says the 5MP camera has the capability, and I appreciate your confirmation. I will get this model and a cheap PoE unit to power it. I do not have an NVR. I believe the Windows client app is the same whether used to access NVR or individual cameras. My guess is since no other RLC cameras have this capability, the app believes they are "all the same" and doesn't have logic to display different options for different models.

Yes,you can't turn off the IR LED if you connect the camera to the NVR. You only can access the setting of the NVR on Client rather than the cameras connecting to it,this design is for security reasons. If you want to turn off the IR LED of one of the cameras, you can turn it off when you connect it separately, then connect it to the NVR.
I know it is very inconvenient to operate, we will try our best to improve every aspect of our product. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
