I have a RLC411we that I have hardwired because of WiFi issues. I just ordered two RLC510's to add to my network. Sounds simple so I ordered a used Netgear POE switch on eBay only really looking at the POE part. Its a FS108p. Now that I am doing more research on everything like I usually do and didn't even think of 10/100 vs Gigabit. Will I have any draw backs using the three cams on this 10/100 switch assuming I max out the bitrate and FPS? At some point I will get two more so I would be at 5 cams ( 1 4mp & 4 5mp ) Someone tell me I'm overthinking it. LOL.

You are smart to think ahead. Only four of these cameras can be powered directly from the four PoE ports on the switch. The 5th camera will need to use a power supply or a PoE injector. I have 5mp cameras wired to a similar PoE switch (I purchased a "gig" switch for no particular reason). The maximum bit rate on my 5mp cameras is about 8196bps. So, four of these and one 4mp camera should max out at about 40mbs, or half of the maximum uplink rate on your switch.

I think you'll find it's 10/100 PER PORT not PER DEVICE. Most Switches are quoted as 10/100 or 10/100/1000 these days which simply means it will switch between those throughput's, depending on what it receives from the input device, rather like USB 3 can handle USB 2 and 1 so it could be shown as USB 1/2/3.

This is correct. No matter how many devices are connected to a port (such as through yet another switch), the maximum connection rate is 100mb. This applies to every port, including one used for "uplink". If the uplink port is limited to 100mb, then it might be (theoretically) possible to run 12 camera feeds through it. The math is a bit fuzzy because it depends on whether the cameras are simultaneously FTPing recordings to an FTP server (as mine do).

The big surprise (to me) was that many 8-port "PoE switches" actually have only 4 PoE ports on them, with the remaining ports being "not PoE".
