Hi,I have noticed that you can turn off the IR lights on the cameras connected to a RNL8-410 H3MB18 whilst leaving the camera in night mode. On the RNL8-410-E H3MB16 you can only turn night mode on or off, not just select to turn the IR lights off. This would be a handy feature to be added to the H3MB16 or has the love been lost with updating this hardware version?Richard
One of the reasons I switched from the original RLC-410 to the newer RLC-410-5MP camera was IR LED management. The original camera had the LED's physically linked to the day/night mode. I had purchased separate IR illuminators to draw insects away from the camera and wound up painting over the LED's on the old cameras. With the new cameras, the controls are independent.(Have no NVR, so I am not certain that my experience has much in common with yours.)
It makes quite a difference doesn't it? When the IR lights are off and the house outside lights are on you get a good picture still on the H3MB18 with the benefit of being able to read number plates as I found out. All I can see with mine are brightly lit rectangles and you can't make out the letters. Both systems have RLC-520's connected to them but only the H3MB18 hardware has the option. I can't see it would be that hard to implement on slightly older hardware.Richard
