I recently purchased a Reolink NVR (RLK16-410B4D4-5MP). I'm trying to add the Nanny as a user so that she can access the live view of the cameras from her phone while she is nannying. I have disabled P2P/uPnP/Port Forwarding so that the NVR is for local access only, so she would only be able to access the cameras when she is physically present. The problem is that some of the cameras are inside that house, so there is a privacy concern for her to be able to access playback video, but oddly I don't see any way to restrict playback access to specific users. I added a "guest" user account for her, but it looks like those guest accounts basically have access to everything. Am I missing something?!
The difference between "ordinary" and "administrative" users is that only administrators can modify settings. Ordinary can only view. Playback is part of view. If you happen across some NVR that has a provision to allow only live view, please post about it.
Well that sucks! I have many other issues with this NVR, but this one issue is a dealbreaker for me. I'm going to have to figure out a workaround, or possibly return this system. I really don't understand why there are so many permission settings to tweak various abilities to modify settings. Why should I care if somebody has the ability to modify the contrast of the video, for example, when I can't even restrict playback?! That makes no sense. I just assumed that was a basic feature of allowing guest user accounts.
Here is a screenshoot of user permissions for Blue Iris for example. These make a lot more sense:https://imgur.com/a/zR3Pj9P
Hi there, the common user could only access the live view and the recordings, but sorry that the NVR system does not support set the permissions currently, we will feedback to the R&D team to see if we could improve in the future though.
Thanks!
