I've owned a E1 Outdoor for three months. I like this camera and all the features. But I and others are having problems with auto tracking. Mine will track a person but sometimes gets stuck to far left or right and will not go back to guard point. This makes the camera useless being stuck. I have to manually use the PTZ button to get it to go back. It sometimes goes out of alignment, the guard points get off by about 10%-20% and it needs to recalibrate. I don't know if this is a firmware glitch or the plastic gears slip a little. I think the auto tracking function is not on current models.

Does Reolink plan to update the auto tracking feature and fix it or just drop this feature for this camera? The night vision on this camera is not good, blurring with motion. I hope Reolink can improve this.

I plan on buying the 823A when it's released. It has auto tracking. I hope auto tracking is reliable on the 823A, I will be disappointed if it has the same problem as the E1 Outdoor.

Just wondering if there has been any progress or intention of progress for the issues high lighted to Reolink?
I would assume this amount of time has been more than enough to address.

My short experience having recently got one of these the same thing happens as the OP.
Night vision is not as clear as expected and moving objects are a blur.
Having to retune the guard point here and there, is annoying.
Tracking will not always return to the guard point, and I had an issue for a couple of days where in the morning the camera would be facing the wall making it useless. I set it back on track and found it back facing the wall again
I also found it had somehow ditched my network and picked up a whole other network ip and gateway which is a worry. I could get onto it within the LAN im guessing being bound to the UID but it was temperamental until I did a factory reset and reconfigured. I could not access it externally till I picked up that the nerwork had changed "itself(?)"
Seems ok now but for how long. My 30 day satisfaction return option is approaching fast and I am considering it if I am going to have to worry about this.

On the positive tho the software and features are great! As a stationary camera I guess its good enough, but I didnt buy a stationary camera.

@sli1-ownzu_553389274583240 I have an E1 OD and sometimes the guard point deviates by 10 degrees, of course, it depends on the frequency of tracking objects. It may be attributed to the plastic gears rather than the stepping motor. Indeed it is annoying to manually set the guard point. If it was a firmware issue they would have certainly corrected it.

Still feels as tho this should be something that can be corrected via firmware especially if you map an image based off the selected detection zone.
Seems ok after the factory reset for me, although my other half likes to turn off the wifi at night and thius morning after turning the wifi back on it didnt want to connect till I restarted it at the power point. Its does have a static ip configured to it. I have another camera from another brand that never gives issues. It just works. Please fix the bugs Reolink....

@sli1-ownzu_553389274583240 the deviation has nothing to do with the selected guard point image as this is static. It's a matter of the precision of the gears. I have suggested to support to do a calibration at say 02:00 every day if this helps. So far no reply. But this is something that would have been spotted during acceptance testing. This is a small gadget and far from the acceptance of a mobile network :).

@sli1-ownzu_553389274583240 Your camera got a different IP since the leased time has expired and your ISP assigned you a different IP. You may ask your ISP for a static IP or else use DDNS.

Camera IP is a local IP and has nothing to do with ISP imho.

@kristof but ti access the camera from outside you need the public router IP.

@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Not necessarily, if you use it with P2P, which probably 95% of the users will do, IP adresses are exchanged with your client/app/whatever automatically. Almost every consumer internet product here has a variable IP, so it wouldn't work if you don't renew your IP manually every 8 hours or whatever the lease time is...
You would need a fixed IP if you use the camera without P2P and without dyndns and VPN for example.

But I still don't understand exactly what the OP is referring to when saying "picked up another network". IMHO that can only be another WIFI, which is indeed curious without any human action.

I can also confirm the E1 losing the correct guard position btw... Also the turn radius has changed during time, my far left as it was is now covered by the far right of PTZ... So there is some slipping obviously.

@kristof Reolink client requests the IP of the camera from the Reolink P2P servers and then it will establish a direct UDP session with the camera. Check it out with wireshark.

@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 that is exactly what I said. No need for fixed IP.

@kristof But if the BB router changes IP and the camera doesn't send any requests to the Reolink P2P servers then you will not be able to access the camera from the client as the client will get the old IP.

@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Be assured, the camera sends out traffic like crazy when UID is active 😉 Just checked it on my router log. So yes this issue can occur, but is resolved within seconds/minutes as the camera sends its data again. But maybe one of the devs can clarify the sync time in more detail.
Everything else would lead to customer dissatisfaction when using P2P.
