RLN8-410 no DHCP server on camera POE ports
-
Hi. We've got an RLN8-410 NVR and going to be using it with RLC-511WA cameras. Is there a reason there is no DHCP service on the POE network? I checked and nothing responds to DHCP requests on the POE ports. There's just nothing there. Settings show nothing for setting up the internal network either. I can't even change it from the default 172.16.x.x addressing scheme if I wanted to.
I have to manually assign IP addresses to the cameras or attach a DHCP server to the POE ports along with cameras if I want them assigned IP addresses dynamically. Am I just expecting too much from this particular NVR? Other smaller, cheaper NVRs I've used have all had a DHCP server on the internal POE network. -

In the network setting, you can find the DHCP settings. -
@reolink-fiona Hi, thanks for replying. The cameras have a DHCP client setting that works fine. But the problem is the NVR does not have a DHCP service running on it to give out those addresses. I checked the NVR's POE network and none of the DHCP requests are being answered. Is there supposed to be a DHCP service running on the NVR's POE ports? It doesn't look like it because the NVR's network setup only has it's own DHCP client setting or a static IP setting. But no options to adjust a DHCP SERVER setting, such as IP address range, etc.
Instead of just plugging a camera into the POE ports and it receiving an address and being added to the NVR's camera list automatically, I am having to connect to the camera first, assign it a static IP address, then attach it to the NVR. My other option is to attach an extra device to the POE network solely to run as a DHCP server.
I just want to know is the lack of a DHCP service on the NVR's POE network by design or do I have a faulty NVR? -

Have you enabled the auto-add button on the channel list? For the DHCP setting, you can find it at Network settings>>General/Advanced. Please set the network access to DHCP. If you can't find the setting, you can give me a picture of what your setting shows.
