      Hi!

      I’ve just installed the Reolink RLC 823A on the corner of my house (with my existing Reolink static camera setup) and I’m very impressed.

      However, I need help with two things.

      Firstly, in Patrol Mode, the camera only seems to rotate through the saved points in one direction ; even if it means going the long way around. Is there any way to change this behaviour, and get the camera to rotate in a custom way?

      Secondly, the LED spotlights are nice and bright which is brilliant, but there’s no rhyme or reason for them being activated. At first, I thought viewing the camera on the iOS app activated the lights, but I soon realised that this wasn’t the case. There’s no option to customise the lights or even toggle on/off, so what triggers them? Do I have any control whatsoever over them?

      Finally, I can’t find any option for the smart motion tracking. How do I access the setting to make the camera track people?

      Thanks in advance for any advice. Unfortunately, these issues are potential dealbreakers and I don’t want to have to return an otherwise great product.

          Hi there, you can try to upgrade your RLC-823A with the latest firmware v3.1.0.956_22041511. Download it here, Download Center – Reolink.

          In this firmware, the patrol will operate the shortest routine between the preset points.

          For the spotlight, you can choose to activate it by detecting the person/vehicle.


          For auto-tracking, you can enable the option on our alarm settings.



          If you can't find the features, please upgrade your Client to the latest version. Download the latest version Client here, App & Client - Reolink.

          Doesn't work. Try to turn on 823A auto-tracking from latest 8.8.2 client on the Alarm page and it pops up "Loading failed." message. Network is fine. Can get live streams and other configs, but this alarm page fails on the PTZ. Also doesn't seem to be anyway to upgrade the firmware through this client app when the PTZs are connect to the PoE+ LAN of the Reolink NVR.

              @user_620377737650273_620377737650273 For the camera of NVR, you may need to upgrade the camera firmware via the NVR. Then you can check if it can be better.
