Here is my contribution to the suggestion box:

For my specific security use-case I would like to be able to avoid motion detected alerts automatically when I am home.

This could be detected by a variety of means, eg by sensing my (local) IP or MAC address, or even that the app running while connected to the local network.

...basically... if I'm on and connected to the local network/LAN, I'm home and I don't need alerting.

Thanks so much for your kind suggestions.
Your method will help a lot for users that don't need motion when they are at home as you.

Came here to say exactly this. It just uses the battery charge up so quickly when I am out in the garden and triggering alerts/recordings every minute.

As an alternative to identifying when a user is on the LAN, you could build in geofencing to the app. So if I am outside a 200m radius of my house then activate PIR, otherwise disable it. This could then be used with other users sharing the camera (e.g. a wife), so PIR is only active when BOTH users are outside 200m. This kind of functionality really makes the camera/app "smart".

Sorry that the battery-powered cameras do not support the configuration of the motion detection area at present. And the PIR cannot enable or disable automatically, but your suggestion is worthy of being adopted. We will improve this function in the future and will try our best to make this camera smarter.
If the camera can't detect motion correctly, you can send an email to the support@reolink.com for further assistance.

              +1
Definitely agree with this request to be able to turn on and off PIR with geofencing or when the phone is connected to home LAN.
Maybe it would be easier to handle thanks to IFTTT
