It's nice that cameras can be mounted with a strap. It's disappointing that the solar panel can't be mounted with a strap. The solar panel is unusable when you need to mount a camera where the strap is required. So I can't put a camera on a tree without having to put screws in the tree for the solar panel. That makes the strap useless because wherever I want to use the strap I also want to use a solar panel.

@user_602187556462673_602187556462673 Good point. I never came across one with a strap. They also need to start thinking of having the enclosure being the solar panel like their competitors.

Would not be difficult to make a DIY strap for the solar panel. One short piece of wood the the solar panel can be screwed to plus any kind of strap to go around an object.

@crimp-on_62210811129 They supply a strap for the battery cameras. How hard would it be for them to supply a strap for the solar panels too?

Interesting to note that the Keen Ranger PT, which is clearly intended to be strapped to trees, comes with the same type of camera mount that provides for screw mounting, has a slot for a strap, AND includes a strap. But the solar panel for this camera is also designed for only screw mounting.

As to "how hard"? That's a sales/marketing question. How many customers will purchase solar panels intended for strap mounting (or purchase a conversion kit)? Will this make it worth producing and selling? There are already lots of replacement parts that Reolink doesn't sell.

My perspective is "How can the customer solve a problem when the vendor does not offer a solution?"

Was trying to figure out why I had a metal backplate and extra strap after installing my Argus PT and Solar Panel, so you're request has been answered. Newer Solar Panels seem to have a back plate, screws and strap that now let you mount the solar panel via Strap. Found this out after doing a DIY solution atleast I have a backup option now if it doesn't get enough Sun.

Doesn't seem to be mentioned in the Manual or anywhere...

@user_643267646701584_643267646701584 Suggestion which has been implemented. They cannot do everything at the same time. Features are prioritised as we do for our daily life.

@user_643267646701584_643267646701584 Thank you, this works! Now both my camera and solar panel have straps and are installed. 🙂
