After experiencing 2 different wifi cams over the last month and both playing up. one has been returned via amazon the other has been replaced through warranty and is 1 day into use and so far so good. The 511wa detection was worse than the Argus 3 pro. So a fault is suspected.

The 511WA has a better field of view for my application compared to the Argus 3 Pro. Could there be a customer demand for different field of view selection for the Argus cameras. A narrower field of view in some cases may also reduce so called false alarms. In one installation it went off many times in areas that were not of interest even though these areas had been greyed out in the app. an issue with PIR and then Ai should cancel it.

How both cameras can record to the sd card and those recordings are not available through either app or client is a mystery. To be looked into.

After several different search entries into google, One that came up many times. Was the lack of cloud storage for wifi ip cameras.
surely the protection felt by the customer is better knowing that the recording is on the cloud, in case the camera is disabled by the intruder.

the one thing I loved about the 511wa over the Argus 3 pro was the pre motion recording feature. when it worked.
as the need for the coverage of the area is limited the solar power is better than powering a camera 24/7

Hopefully the feedback helps in future decisions for the company. and benefits all.

      Regards
      Lyle

I have been using the 511wa for a while now and have had no issues so far including with false alarms. Also no issue on playback via android app or windows client for recordings. I havent used the Argus series yet though for comparison.
For the 511wa ensure the firmware is fully to date, firmware should be v3.1.0.956.
Hope this helps and im sure Reolink will take the feedback onboard.

@lyle_531706038124792 Hello, I have both models and didn't encounter any of the issues you have described. The detection of RLC511WA is awesome and never missed an object. You need to make use of all the settings to avoid false alarms in particular the alarm delay timer and the object size. A bit of patience during setup and voila'. The only issue I have found is that if you lock the 5G from the main router there might be the possibility that you will not reach the camera. The only way to reconnect is to power off/on the camera. But if you power off/on the main router then it's fine. Support are delving through this and hopefully it will be sorted out in the next firmware release. Well, Argus 3 Pro is fantastic and as you stated it lacks the pre-motion but if implemented this requires a bigger battery pack to keep up its continuous recording. None of the Reolink battery operated cameras offer 24x7 recording.

At most times I am able to watch the recorded videos without any issue. Please check that the cameras have good WIFI coverage and you have adequate bandwidth on both the router and the mobile. If possible try to operate them on the 5G band.
