HiI have the RLK8-520D4 kit, including RLN8-410 (v2) and RLC-520 cameras. On the whole it seems like a good system but it could be great. As others have mentioned the motion detection seems tricky to set up so it reliably detects people moving in all circumstances but isn't triggered by momentary movements from insects flying past, rain, drips of water from the roof etc, particularly if you're trying to detect motion from a distance if the camera is mounted high. The best option would be to add your new AI detection to this system but I think a simpler improvement might be to add a minimum motion duration configuration option. This could be as simple as the number of frames of "motion" detected before an alert is raised as someone walking through a scene would probably cause motion to last longer than that of for example a moth flying past the camera. It would also be handy when setting it up to know what motion "level" is being registered by the system when you do walk tests etc. Thanks
Your request has been collected. Engineering is reviewing the feasibility of implementing this idea. We’ll schedule to implement the request if it’s accepted. Otherwise, it goes to the suggestion pool and may be reactivated if others make similar requests again. Thank you sincerely for sharing your thoughts. We will take your request seriously and work hard to make our products better~
For what is worth, this is an excellent suggestion. Any chance to get it also in battery-powered cameras? Currently I'm dealing with a greater than normal number of false alarms because the lower position of the sun at this time of year makes more pronounced moving shadow effects. Then, any tool helping to manage or at least reduce them would be welcome.
I second the issue and need for solution. It is quite frustrating that bugs, drips of water etc. triggers an alarm. A change in software to analyze more frames for motion before triggering an alarm should be feasible to accomplish with the present software.
We will work hard to improve our products. We do appreciate your suggestion. We have also launched smart detection cameras to improve this problem: https://reolink.com/product/rlc-510a/
