Hi, testing Wifi doorbell since couple of days and what a noticed so far, that push notifications are delayed a few seconds and live video streaming is very unstable.
What’s your thoughts guys?Reply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

@andrewadventure_658285543473233 I have the WIFI doorbell and don't have the issue of unstable video streaming. If you are experiencing this I think it is a WIFI issue. Ensure that the upload speed is more than 15Mbps and there aren't a lot of devices on the selected WIFI channel. Try to use the 5G Hz band if the signal is strong.
Similarly don't expect an immediate push notification......it may take a few seconds (say 2 to 5s for powered cams and may increase to 8 sec for battery operated cams). In a nutshell the camera forwards the message to the Reolink message server which in turn sends a trigger push (using the token) to Google FCM (assuming Android smartphone and the smartphone has registered to FCM and received a token (you can see this in the system log) which is passed to Reolink application server). FCM pushes the notification message to your mobile operator (assuming your smartphone is on 4G) and the operator packet core pages your mobile. Your smartphone acknowledges this and the packet core forwards the push message notification to your mobile. I kept it very simple and at very high level. -
@andrewadventure_658285543473233 Do you have mechanical chimes and used the provided wires to bypass them? What's your transformer specs? It may not be powerful enough. Is your wifi signal strong enough?

Ring pro was working perfectly on same WiFi, surprisingly Reolink showing only 50% signal strength(5ghz, extender a 1m away). What I have noticed, when I was at work(4g) and turned on VPN directly to my home router everything is working how it should be. Can it be some router settings/ port forwarding, etc?????? -
@md hi using 24v power adapter.

@andrewadventure_658285543473233 When you turned on the VPN router you establishes a tunnel between your VPN client (eg Forticlient) and your company router. I do not think you have VPN on your home BB router and have a VPN server. I still think that there is somehow a WIFI issue and at the time you tried from work, WIFI signal was strong and maybe not congested at your home. Go near the camera and do a speed test using both the 2.4G and 5G band. You may install a WIFI test applet and you see if there are lots of SSIDs using the same channel. If there are you can change the channel on your router/extender to the one least used. So with your smartphone on the same WIFI check the outcome when the camera is on 2.4 and 5 Band. Then switch off WIFI on smartphone and repeat the two tests. Let me know the outcome. I also assume that you are using the supplied DC adapter to power the doorbell.

@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 connected through ethernet port now, see how its goes. Wifi still unreliable, even tried in house as well, close to my main wifi router.

@dgordon42_415060065599711 No. This is how it works. However, if you are connected to the home WIFI rather than receiving the push notification through the mobile operator, you will receiving through your ISP.
Video doorbell issue.
