It doesn't look like you intend on providing updated firmware for IPC_3816M cameras stating they are 'old' This issue with flash isn't something that happened over night. This was planned for YEARS to be desupported yet you took the stance of waiting till the last minute to update cameras and to leave 'working' camera models broken. You deployed the IPC_3816M for example KNOWING it had a short shelf life due to flash yet now you are unwilling to fix it.

I've begun modifying all my reviews on amazon for all the cameras I've purchased over the years. I encourage others to do so as well. Telling your customers they need to replace the cameras because you implemented a DIVEST technology when they were built is unacceptable and a PURE money grab.

Adobe announced the upcoming end of Flash support in July of 2017. Reolink waited 3.5 years to start rolling out HTML5 firmware and did not make any exceptions regarding not to be updated IPC_3816M models until December 3, 2020. All along customers were lead to believe that an update for this older hardware was forthcoming. This was very poorly handled on Reolink's part and left many dissatisfied customers.

              I have two Reolink cameras:

              RLC-411 - IPC_3816M: purchased April 2018
              C1 Pro - IPC_51316M: purchased Feb 2019

Neither have firmware that support HTML5. I've previously complained about the lack of Google Home integration support for the 411, and was told that was too old to be updated. The solution offered was a small discount on ordering a modern equivalent that would take the new firmware. I declined.

Both were bought brand new from Reolink via Amazon. I have zero motivation to buy any new Reolink cameras knowing that the otherwise excellent hardware is just abandoned by Reolink support after a couple of years. The lesson to the Reolink team is simple: look after your existing customers and they will stay with you. If you don't, they tell their friends, family...

                Hey man,
understand the frustration and the frustration of the users out there.
I did as "Cynthia" suggested and reached out to Techsupport.
They supplied me with a firmware for the c1 but I had to supply a photo of the device. Fine.
It has worked exceptionally well and some of the previous issues I had have also been solved.
One thing that didnt work as opposed to original firmware was the ability to set the wifi in the camera when connected via lan, unplug lan, reboot and viola! I had to do it via the scanning of the qr code and putting app on my phone, which worked great.
Not here to promote reolink, I just hate ewaste!

There is one thing about Reolink: Their software department really sucks. They need a kick in the b.., and get things going.
I contacted them about 8 months before the Flash deadline and they assured me it is already in the works.
I than found a firmware update for my camera, downloaded it, updated the camera ---- and then............BRICK!
                  My new Reolink Camera

We are so sorry about the inconvenience caused.

May I know the camera system information?

Please do not worry, if you have contacted the support before, we will see how to help you.

I properly disposed of the camera already, so no further action is required!

Sorry to bump an old thread, but the users who have posted in here would likely be interested in the security vulnerabilities posted here:
                        nozominetworks(.)com/blog/new-reolink-p2p-vulnerabilities-show-iot-security-camera-risks.

Question for you Reolink: The new HTML5 firmware versions you have released apparently include a patch for this P2P issue per the article. What are you doing for those of us with the 3816 Cameras? We are exposed to this same security holes AND we have been abandoned when it comes to HTML5 support. Are you going to patch the 3816 firmware to eliminate this security risk? If so you should give us HTML 5 support at the same time. Your latest firmware is older than the release of the article.

I will be awaiting your response. You need to step up and address this and the HTML5/flash issue. As an absolute minimum you should give 3816 users the same security patch. You are aware of both and you could find yourselves liable for future breaches if bad actors are exploiting a vulnerability you are aware of.

Using a fixed encryption key common to all products is a bad design choice. When your "encryption" isn't really encryption at all, but is in fact a simple XOR of "Charlie is the designer of P2P!!," that is an even worse design choice. Reolink really needs to fix this security vulnerability for 3816 customers.

So Reolink, while you're fixing this security problem, please fix the Adobe Flash problem that you promised to fix for us several years ago.

As far as I can see the C1 Pro – IPC_51316M never got updated HTML 5 firmware but happy to be corrected.

I have totally lost faith in Reolink. This new security flaw seals the fate of my cameras. I see them being replaced in the very near future for a different manufacturer.

Please don't worry, as a security company, we place high importance on our customers' security issue. Could you please submit a request to our support team at support@reolink.com? Our support team will have a check with the engineer and get back to you as soon as possible.

                                Hello Cynthia,

I provided the link above. Can you please pass it on to your support team and let us know what their proposed solution is? If you read the article, there is mention that Reolink was aware of and had corrected the issue. If this is the case, you certainly haven't fixed it on the 3816 cameras as there is no new firmware.

There is no point in asking individual users to contact support for an individual update when this is an issue that affects all of us that have 3816 cameras. Please provide a response here where all of us can see it.

We will forward this issue to our engineer. However, we are not in the same office as the R&D team. It is more convenient for us to provide you with timely information response and appropriate solutions via email.

Still getting the flash interface warning.Newest firmware available (October 2021) This is for an NVR that I just purchased a month ago so it had better not be unsupported. This happens on a Smart TV web interface as well as Iphone Safari browser. I need a SmartTV app or this web interface to be functional.

Hi, @hamanjam_462617497706698, if it is the latest firmware, the Flash problem will be sorted in most of the devices. Some web browsers may still not be compatible.

You can try the following methods.

                                      • Change another web browser of the iPhone
                                      • Change another phone to try
                                      • Try to view it on our APP. You can download the APP here, App & Client - Reolink.

For the Flash issue and the request of the Smart TV APP, I have forwarded them to the team. If you have any other feedback, you can let me know.

@puplett_148654853406975 what type of discount were you offered? I'm trying to figure out if I should try to get one through their RMA and the whole IPC_3816M fiasco or just use the discounts offered today.
