Reolink Client v8.12.1
Reports problems even after the latest version is downloaded: "Some system files are missing, click here to download DirectX redist to fix it, and then restart the Client." The latest DirectX is also loaded.
Fix the Client.

Where is the link? -
@m_12_327023508676743 What problems have you encountered after downloading the DirectX? If you cannot access the camera live view, try to disable hardware decoding option and fix the issue. Hope this helps.

@reolink-lorenz
It is very annoying when the error message repeats every time I open the client. What actions have I left out? I downloaded the last DirectX, deposited it in the temp file . Should I have somehow continued with the files that were in the temp file? -
@m_12_327023508676743 You need to install it.

Where do I put the extracted files ?

We need an explanation on why these files from an old version of DirectX are needed.
Or are they needed?
What doesn't work if they are not installed?
Is the new 64 bit client using some software library that is dependent on an old version of DirectX? It just make no sense to me.
Where has Fiona from Reolink gone to tell us what is going on?Reply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

@dgordon42_415060065599711
indeed, It doesn't make sense to use DirectX.
Maybe I'm wrong but I think DirectX is no longer used for a long time ago. -
@franck-danard_535946363461832 i mean the two versions appear the exact same to me

Too much troubles with this version.
I installed the latest version in a restaurant and now, the customer is not able to see any camera on the Reolink Client. (Windows 7 and 10)
I need to downgrade and reinstall everything. I will try that today....
This version is not able to detect any camera automatically.
Sometimes we can see "connected" and there is no video on the screen.
How is possible to display "connected" and don't display the video?
Need to refesh the device again and again til a video appears. Sometimes not.
The app is supposed to know the ip address, then why it's so complicated to connect the device?
Other thing.
It should be smart for Reolink to create a web page including all previous version for apps and change logs.
Just an idea like that.

@franck-danard_535946363461832 Frank the issue is that this client requires a DirectX9 dll. You need to install or repair DirectX. So you have connected and audio but no video.
Try to get DirectX_Repair(Enhanced_Edition)-Eng.zip

I had the same issue:
For those that stumble upon this thread (which appears to be everyone who has upgraded to v.8.12.1) the link below is the missing information you need to finish fixing the problem:

@bnkuder_41107750744308 That didn't work. I already had connected audio and video anyway. Everything worked fine to start with, except the error message.

@user_692173041451191_692173041451191 Which error message?
