Hello. I'm piecing together the answers to my questions from searching these forums, and some of the topics are quite old.
Can I get verification of the following:

      1) If I am running an NVR, I can only upgrade NVR firmware from the phone client, PC client, or Web interface. I can not upgrade firmware for my individual cameras from any of those interfaces.
      2) I can not even see the firmware version of individual cameras unless I am connected directly to the NVR with a monitor?
      3) Since I did not install my cameras initially, am I right that I will find an HDMI hookup for a monitor and some kind of hookup for a mouse on the NVR itself?

I am dreading the answers to this as my NVR is stuck in a narrow wiring closet and has been mounted to the wall. Any answers (good or bad) are appreciated.

I posted the above several days ago, and in the absence of answers I experimented myself to find the answers
        as follows:

        1) As far as I can tell, the only way to update firmware on cameras attached to an NVR is from the NVR itself. This means hooking up a monitor and a mouse to the physical NVR box and running the upgrades from there.
        2) Once I connected to the NVR, I was able to find the screen that listed all of the Channels. Along with that, all of the cameras, models, firmware, etc. was listed. I had to download the latest firmware (based on the model number of the cameras) from another computer onto a USB. There is a USB port on the NVR.
        3) There was both an HDMI and a VGA hookup on my NVR. I used HDMI with a regular monitor, and there was a mouse already attached.

Final note, when I found the area to upgrade each of the cameras, there were two options: Upgrade online or Upgrade USB. When I tried to upgrade online it said "No updates available", even though the firmware was 18 months old. I ended up doing the USB upgrade to make it work.

The final result is that I'm extremely happy I upgraded. The AI detection of Person and Vehicle is now much better for me!

@dreamcatcher_722781639573749 I missed this request as I was extremely busy with an IMS project. If the cameras are connected directly to the NVR then you need to upgrade them through the NVR. My preference is to have a POE managed switch in between so that I am able to connect directly to the camera through Win/Mac/Android/IoS client. Should something happen to the NVR I am able to connect to the cameras and there is the option to store the video onto a local SD or ftp the video to an ftp server. Upgrading the camera directly using the PC client is really easy.

And the automatic upgrade hasn't been deployed on most cameras and subsequently you need to check with support if there is a newer fw for both the cameras and the NVR. Their download site is not frequently updated and so I suggest you that every 3 months you email support to check for newer firmware. This is what I do.

But at the end you are more than satisfied as you were able to upgrade it on your own despite you spent more hours.........but you learnt. This is how we learn and improve ourselves :).
