I was looking at investing in Reolink until I saw that Linux client is not supported. I guess I need to look elsewhere like Ubiquiti Protect.

I purchased a Reolink Duo to see if I could move over to ReoLink form Wyze and Arlo, and this is the one thing keeping me from going all out and replacing them all.

Trying to forcce clients to use nasty operating systems like Windows and MacOS is not a very wise option.

As a Linux user, I need some way to handle TimeLapse setup and video downloads. Most other things seem to be doable via the browser interface but not this.

Linux command line access would be great too. Grabbing still images with wget is working great, as well as rtsp-stream to VLS-player or OBS. However, I have not managed to download any video files from command line. A simply ftp-server would be somewhat ok. Or scp or rsync protocols.

Perhaps I misunderstand.....

All the RLC cameras support FTP, which is independent of server platform. (i.e. to Windows, to Linux, to NAS, etc. FTP is FTP.)

I got app 8.7.1 running with wine, because it's electron you need
wine 'C:\Program Files (x86)\\Reolink\\Reolink.exe' --disable-gpu
After entering UUID cam, the app say it is a battery cam, i guess it connect to p2p server and recognize it, but after, by choice "already connected to wifi", it never can connect to the cam and never prompt for user/pass.

For now, because Reolink client is electron, you should know linux have a native support of electron.

About API asked here but also me by mail, your answer sound like you misunderstood, you say third soft, but, for example, my other cam are HinkVision who provide Linux SDK, i use them to wrote QtVsPlayer see it in mlo/mageia repo repository/8/x86_64/media/core/ or my github space, surfzoid, but also they provide ISAPI/REST doc and i wrote HikExtractor, that's wonderful time wine.

Another one for a Linux client - particularly for battery powered cameras like the Argus 3 Pro.
I have a number of other Reolink cameras which I can access through a browser or my Synology server, but it appears that I am stuck with a phone to both view and configure the Argus 3 Pro. Horribly inconvenient. Didn't realize it was a problem until I got it.

Considering this thread goes back about 6 years it would seem that Reolink is not serious about supporting the Linux community?
But they do use Linux as their embedded OS?
