@reolink-fiona my cameras and cloud are linked to my Google account. I don't want to share my Google account. But I am willing to create a special reolink account based on email which I could share. How could I move all my cameras and the cloud subscription from my Google account to an email based account? Or is it possible to add email and password to my existing account so I could share just this email and password?
what is the preferred way for reolink to get bug reports?- does a dedicated public bug tracker for bugs and / or features exist?- should we report bugs here in the forum?- Should I open a new common support ticket for several bugs per firmware?- Should I open a support ticket per bug?A public tracker could avoid reporting known issues.A public "feature request collecting and voting system" allows to quantity feedback.
My old foscam cameras can upload pictures to ftp on motion detection every 1 second and this is great and this is what I use for several years instead of videos. In the reolink client the minimum custom value is 2 seconds. Is this a limit of the camera firmware or is it a limit of the client? Is it possible to upload a picture every 1 second?
I am not satisfied with the way how the history is shown in the Android App (and in the PC client). I miss an additional way to browse the histories with screenshots. This is possible in apps for other cameras or for video doorbells. Have a look at this CloudEdge screenshot as an example:edit: it looks like the link doesn't work. Try it directly https://imgur.com/XuRoAj8 or see the attached file.I get a lot of motion detection for each flying insect or for rain drops or flying leafs. But if I lower the sensibility I don't get motions detected for all people, fox, raccoon and other animal motions I want to see. So I need to select a higher sensitivity and I get much more false positive flags. When it is raining or when there is some wind I get permanent motion flags. And it is not possible to view all these videos. That's why there should be an easy optical way to check motion events. The screenshot should show the picture which caused the motion flag (in case of motion detection by frame comparing).Currently, I use a complicated workaround:- I use the FTP upload (which is not available for wireless cameras, but why you can't allow? I think for energy saving. But you could implement some batch upload of motion pictures and videos. Viewing the videos on the SD cards will also cost lot of energy)- I check the pictures of the FTP uploads with one setting showing me only the pictures but not the videos- When I found an interesting motion I try to have a look at the video. But this process is too complicated because I can't easily switch from picture to video. And there is no FTP upload available for Argus cameras. If you write videos on the SD card, if you can send pictures or videos by Email or upload them via ftp, why not to store them also on the SD card and implement a history with screenshots?doorbell_CloudEdge_history.png
Thank you Crimp On, I also found this and I also have both versions and can switch.
I tried the beta, current version 8.1.18In the "normal" client I was able to Playback all / several cameras at the same time. And this was the most interesting feature. I can't find how to do this in the 8.1.18 How I should do?If this is not possible, is it planned to add again? How can I switch between the beta version and the normal version to compare and to use features missing in the beta?
There is a support article How to Customize Push Sound and the idea is clear. But how can I identify different categories? All the notification categories I see are named "Default Channel". If I go inside them I see different numbers for sound, for example 2131165186, 2131165185 and so on. But there are no names and how can I understand which number belongs to which notification type? All other apps provide understandable names for different notification. And of course I need to distinguish between let's say a motion detection on the front door related to a visitor from a motion detection in the Rabbit hutch.
My idea was not to integrate a third-party doorbell camera, but just a simple push button (because I will have enough reolink cameras, I ordered 9 pieces). The push button should only trigger an event. But maybe I should find a simple and cheap doorbell camera and use it separately, as a workaround. Until reolink will sell a doorbell solution and I can integrate it later.
I am looking for a solution to integrate a simple wireless doorbell into the reolink system: trigger a push message, start to show an associated camera, sound / video on optional Google home devices... This wireless doorbell doesn't need video features because it should be used together with existing reolink cameras. It should be possible to use it just as input data source to trigger some actions. Some kind of automation as it is possible in several smart home solutions with several sensors.I already ordered some reolink cameras (still waiting) and one reason was the Google home support because I also want to use Google home to show what happens and to talk to visitors. Are there any experiences or ideas?I know this thread is about NVR and PoE doorbell, but there are not so much other threads about doorbell. And finally I also want to integrate the PoE cameras.
