Yep.. same here. Patrol and auto tracking are what I bout the RLC-823A for. They don’t work together which makes this PTZ basically useless. My parked vehicles, my shed and shop are all detected vehicles so that great functionality is turned off including my flood lights.Patrol detects motion in one of the defined presets and just continues to the next preset (this is where auto tracking is supposed to come in but NOT. USELESS!Turn on auto tracking with patrol and it’s good one time. When auto tracking is done that’s where the camera stays until you manually restart patrol. USELESS!One would think the detection zone could cover your vehicles. Remove the area your vehicles are located hence no detection. Nope! The detection zone moves in my testing on the PTZ. Somehow on patrol detection zones are USELESS!Time for Reolink to get up off they’re a**’es and make these features work together.Until then “DO NOT PURCHASE THIS CAMERA”
@fort-soto_670059313066082 please post here when it stops working.
@fort-soto_670059313066082 you have 1 post in your profile and it’s this one.How long have you had the camera and what is your firmware version?
@clark_463039665144015 I wouldn’t buy it. I own one and it doesn’t work the way it is advertised. Refer to post:https://community.reolink.com/topic/2914/rlc-823a-patrol-to-auto-tracking-mode-feature-request
@kyra_lan auto tracking my a$$. You people need to quit false advertising:https://community.reolink.com/topic/2914/rlc-823a-patrol-to-auto-tracking-mode-feature-request
@joseph_1979 No worries. Thanks for staying in tune with the thread.
@joseph_1979 Absolutely. I got the typical BS canned response that I could add my email address to the firmware contact list when an update came out.
@joseph_1979 I can tell you the RLC-823A 5x on the beta firmware they released in this thread is working with auto-track and patrol at the same time. The 16x doesn’t have an updated beta firmware even though the PTZ is $100 more.I’m guessing the only way is to voice my frustration all over the internet in reviews to get these people to get up off their A$$’es and fix what’s broke.Until then I’m going to strongly advise not to purchase.Absolutely ridiculous.
@joseph_1979 support indicates no further updates. I have the latest firmware and I can confirm after the factory reset auto-tracking is not working on the RLC-823A 16X with patrol. What next?
@bk Well after a month of use I've run into a couple problems. It seems on the 823A and the 823A-16X they both quit auto-tracking and the only way to get them working again is to do a factory reset. They detect motion on patrol and just move to the next preset point like nothing was detected.I would have thought there would be updates to the 16X public released firmware and the 823A BETA firmware by now. Also as a side note: I had to back out of the lastest PC client. The PTZ's wouldn't move with the arrows and the PTZ button was missing. Be mindful of upgrading.
@reolink-lorenz I can confirm after loading the beta this morning with a reset that auto-tracking and patrol are working properly. One bug that I noticed right off is stream mode clear doesn’t appear to be working with auto-tracking and patrol but balanced does work.
