@reolink-fiona Thanks. That's all as I expected, so there must be some obscure bug. I'll see if I can reproduce and open a support ticket.Uploading the screen shot I tried to include previously.
@reolink-fiona my email is set correctly and verified and the settings are When a new reply is posted in a topic you are watching: Notification & Email When a post is edited in a topic you are watching: Notification & EmailBut I still don't receive any emails (I've checked spam folder etc)
@reolink-fiona thanks for your reply. Looking forward to client 8.8This is the iOS app, v 4.29.2.1 I'm trying again, here's what the screen shows. I've noticed sometimes it shows the view from the camera, other times it shows a picture of blue sky and clouds - I'm not sure why I see the two different things. When I clicked "Finish" last time nothing seemed to happen but no video was created.I don't seem to be able to post a screen shot, the forum shows an error and 'too large'If I switch to the Time Lapse Gallery that says "Generating" above the thumbnail and a duration of 1 second. If I select that is says "Caching is required before you can play the video" and it seems to play ok.
Last week I tried to generate a timelapse on a RLC-510AI couldn't find the feature in the Mac app - should it be? I'm running 8.7.1 - why can't there be feature parity between the mobile and desktop clients?Using the iOS app I selected Time Lapse / create / customize. Start "now", duration "disabled finish capture automatically" (as I wasn't sure how long I wanted it to run for), Interval "5 minutes", quality "Clear", file type "video" and pressed start and it showed "Generating"A week later I went back into the app and clicked "finish" and nothing has happened - so I'm a bit disappointed. There was nothing to suggest it wasn't working.I think I may have clicked the 'view' button while it was running. Does that break it (but still leave the "finish" button showing)? Also I don't seem to get any email notifications from this forum, which limits how often I remember to come back and check. Is there a way to fix that?
@reolink-fiona At what point should "check updates" within the client be able to find and download this version? I thought i'd leave the version on my Mac to see if it could update itself, but so far, almost a week after your announcement, I still get "This is the most current version available." if I manually select the "Check Updates" menu option and although I've got "Automatic Client Update" selected in preferences, I've still got 8.7.0
@reolink-fiona whether I try to use an attachment or paste something into the post, the forum software was still saying I couldn't as the message was too big. Trying again with a random snapshot it seems to work now. Not sure if that's because I've now posted a certain number of comments here.
@reolink-lorenz I know how I should be able to post images, however when I tried the forum complained the message was too large (even though I tried to reduce the size of the image file significantly). I think I need to have gained more 'points' before I'm allowed to create larger messages. If that color switching threshold feature is still in beta, can I provide any more useful feedback to help improve it?
@reolink-fiona 8.5.2 appeared very quietly (apparently a week since release an my client still couldn't update to it automatically, so I've downloaded manually). Are there any release notes?
@reolink-lorenz The system won't let me post an image here. I was referring to the slider under the Advanced section that's called "Black & White and Color Switching Threshold". I was expecting it to allow me to have the camera stay in color mode until it gets darker than the default, but so far (RLC-410-5MP with firmware v3.0.0.660_21102203) it doesn't seem to make any difference.
@reolink-lorenz I can see why it's done, but the average non technical user doesn't understand 'tab' they just expect to click with the mouse. After they've entered the information the next obvious thing to do is click save.
A minor detail, but I noticed when adding a camera on the Mac client, after entering the second copy of the new password, I couldn't click the save button. I had to tab out of the second password field before the save button was enabled.
@reolink-lorenz So what is that slider that allows selection of +/- 50 for the B&W and Color Switching Threshold ? I assume it should change the behaviour somehow
I don't seem to be able to get the Black & White and Color Switching Threshold to work on a RLC-410-5MP. If I manually switch the "Day and Night" mode to Color I get an image which looks quite usable to me (I did try to post an example here but it complains it makes the post too large). However as soon as I switch "Day and Night" back to auto, the image switches to B&W, no matter what setting I have the Switching Threshold set to. I would like it to stay in colour when the lighting levels are similar to this picture, but still be able to switch to B&W when it gets darker. (in case it matters I have the IR lights set to stay off on this camera, which gives a better B&W picture and avoids focusing on any spiders web across the camera that is lit up by the IR)
